Duke Special - Songs From The Deep Forest
Debut album from this Irish songwriter who rather looks like a Rastafari. He’s a romantic at the piano using a variety of household objects and instruments like cheese graters, wardrobe doors, harps, brass, strings and an old gramophone in order to craft quirky and anthemic pop songs. Needless to say, Duke isn't a performer easily pigeon-holed.

Josh Ottum - Like The Season
My memory really isn't the best coz I don't quite remember how I found this little contemporary singer-songwriter gem. However...Not really known in his native USA too, Josh Ottum serves with this album a reason to getting recognized. It's cranky, it's melodic, it's intelligent. 3 things that interesting records by contemporary singer-songwriters need to have in my opinion.
Ok, crankiness only to a certain extend coz if the other songs on the album had been like the first song "It's alright" I surely wouldn't mention this album here.
However! "Bolstered by semi-hollow body guitars, old keyboards, dry drums, and a hundred multi-tracked voices singing melodies, melodies, harmonies, melodies and backwards woah-woahs and yeah-yeahs, Ottum's exquisite pop songs shine like polished furniture through a window on a crisp fall morning." True!
