What The Edge Can't Leave Behind

On U2.com you can find a little article about The Edge writing in the Uncut magazine about his favourite albums, explaining why and what he loves about them.

I can proudly say: I and The Edge have something in common! Well, somehow at least. He loves Bob Marley's "The Legend"-compilation, and so do I! I remember back then, maybe 10 years ago when I started to get interested in that thing called music, I also bought that record because I had a kind of infatuation with Bob Marley (still today a poster of Bob is hanging on my door) - and what he stood for 'politically'.
I loved his lyrics and how he embedded them with his music. You know, those kinda serious topics put into lovely melodies that spread a certain kind of hope so to speak.
Oh and do you know Tracy Chapman's GENIUS cover of "Three Little Birds" ? Together with "One Love / People Get Ready" it's my fave Bob Marley song btw. And just recently, a 30th Anniversary Version of "Exodus" got released that also includes the famous Rainbow concert on DVD. Needless to say that I bought it.
However, the article is quite interesting in my humble opinion hence he mentions records by Patti Smith, The Clash and The Velvet Underground - all being artists that I got interested in only because of U2 actually...Plus I take his statement about the Secret Machines as recommendation...

u2, music-blah
