(no subject)
It's been pretty hot here in the bay the last few days with a dry 99 degree heat. It felt like Southern California, yuck. The weather today is perfect though and I'm reminded everyday this summer of how beautiful it is up here.
Yesterday was a good saturday. Lauren and I hung out all day and had the most fun and relaxing afternoon and evening. We went into the city and hung out with an awesomely bearded new friend, Bill. Mario and I met him at Dalores Park last sunday and he's a really nice guy. Then we drove to Berkeley to pick up a good sized couch for free which we added to our downstairs living room area. Now our downstairs living room is my favorite place to hang out. We've got 4 amps, 3 guitars, 1 bass, synths galore, comfy couch, 3 record players, tons of records, and a computer all set up and laid out nicely.
Let's see...I also cut my hair which turned out well and I added a comfortable new mattress to my bedroom. Before that, I was sleeping in what Chuck Klosterman would refer to as a, "sleep machine" which is basically a nest of pillows and blankets on the ground in the corner. I personally had no problem with my sleep machine, until I recently started waking up with bruises on my arms and shoulders from sleeping at weird angles on the floor.
Work has been going well lately. I'm making decent money and my hours aren't anything to complain about. I have to wake up around 5:45 am to be at work by 6:30 am, but I'm off by 2:45pm everyday monday-friday.
My dad is driving up to visit me next weekend and I'm actually pretty excited to see him and show him around my neighborhood.
This is not how I imagined this summer to be at all, but it's OK.
