that time of year...

so every year, around the anniversary of my brother (alan) and my brother (Charlie)'s deaths, i get very reflective. i seem to trip down memory lane for weeks before and after the actual dates and i spend a lot of time listening to the music we all enjoyed together...
this morning, on the ride into work, i was listening to Harry Chapin. i had the windows rolled all the way down because, well, the weather is perfect and, i guess the music was a little louder than i thought it was.....

so here i am, driving to work, listening to Harry and this car pulls up to the red light beside me... 2 surf board on top, to young (i mean maybe 25... 26 years old) men, in the front seat, and i have the music on... loud enough for them to hear it...

the driver leans over close enough to tap on my door and says " that is Great!"
so i turn the music down and say "excuse me?"
"What's the name of that song?" then he leans over and says to his passenger "Dude, do you know the song about the dance band on the Titanic?"

i busted! the light turned green and i drove away laughing! CLASSIC! and somewhere, in Heaven...(if you believe) my brothers are both singing with Harry.....
hahahahaha......
