Dear Patrick,
I regret to inform you that, on behalf of every sentient being you infect with your sardonic demeanor, the fates have decided that you should retire your personality. This is a big pill to swallow, I know; not many who have wholly ingested life's utter vacuity can easily let go of their focused, linear desire to exacerbate the good mood of anyone who doesn't understand that life is nothing but a predicament. But the joke is on you, Patrick! I don't mean to condescendingly admonish you for your narrow viewpoint, but negative thought is stark nonsense, and you are an imbecile.
Your assignment for the rest of your new life is to incorporate yourself into the sodality of the human race by being happy. Our species is polyglot and nonsensical, and oftentimes scary, but frankly, you need to grow up and come into apathetic acceptance of its fallacies. You and I are no different than anyone else - we are just as naive and immature, and even less courageous. Your dilated pedestal was built out of fear of the outside world, your fellow man, yourself. Please take the little boy inside you, kiss him on the forehead, and throw him into the deep end of society. He'll learn to swim, I promise.
Please be credulous when reading this letter, Patrick. I have no proof for what I'm saying, and I'm not pretentious enough not to realize that these words, emanating from a confused young adult fighting his adolescent self, hold very little credibility. But I can tell you this: people around us will be happier if you heed this letter, and so will you.
Love,
The New-And-Improved Patrick
P.S. Please dedicate this letter to the one person who was by your side when you were the only one not realizing all of this. She was the only one who gave you a real chance after all, despite your turtle shell heart, and saw everything that was good about you before you even knew it was there. Dedicate it to the one person who made you feel like being happy was actually okay. Let her know that you are thankful, and that you miss her.
P.P.S. Patrick, I regret to inform you that you that, despite this change of heart, you are still a sap.
