Sometimes people have enough passion in their lives to actually devote to something they believe in. This is one of those cases.

Kids are more and more advanced, smarter if you will at a young age than ever before. If they devote themselves to this while they are young it makes them more affective for christ in their older life. If they choose it's not for them then so be it. I'm not saying that this is necessarily the best way to handle the youngest ones but I know by at 9 or 10 most kids are ready and willing to devote to God.
