Dream Shoot

Mar 23, 2011 14:30

I've had a quiet love affair with pinup/vintage/rockabilly since I could remember. It's always been a dream to design and do a shoot with that kind of style and fashion.

I half jokingly mentioned it to a certain someone yesterday-- needless to say it put the wheels in motion.

Things I never expected to happen.
But now I'm confronted with what to do design-wise. There's so many things I love when it comes to pinup and so many things I don't think I should jump head into as a first time.

So I'm pretty torn. There's two specific styles I've had in my mind for a while. The military themed pinup, and the housewife pinup.

I've always had an exact image in mind for a navy girl (right,) I recognize it's definitely harder to take care of location-wise. As in I would only want to do something beach or boat related. So that's out.
So that leaves me with the housewife. And designing this dress has been killer. I came up with something on the right but I'm a little unsure about the top part of the dress. I'm having a terrible time with how I want the collar to look basically. I'm leaning towards something more halter-style.

These are the pieces I'm pulling inspiration from, just so you have an idea

Bonus: I'm thinking I'm gonna go with these heels and these stockings, so I think the color scheme will be a solid color. . .
