(OOC: Gotta backdate for the sake of no Swordian days or something. Having no talking sword should force him to be a little more social. ... I swear he isn't crazy
( Read more... )
[Yeager, who spends a good amount of time lurking around the weapons store himself, examining what shows up there, happens to notice the frequency in which Leon's been visiting it. So, naturally, he gets a bit curious and approaches him.]
[He noticed the strange man approach him when he was just about to take his leave. Leon knows nothing about this man; therefore he doesn't want to talk to him.]
Hmph...
[The young man turned to the door to take his leave. He wasn't so desperate just yet. It's only been a week, so he didn't want to ask of anything. Maybe bother him everyday he comes back or catch his interest, then he'll stay to chat.]
[Oh, he's not going to be discouraged that easily.]
Were you looking for a sword? There is a whole pile of blades that came in recently.
[It's sort of a half-lie--more like an exaggeration, really, as he had seen a few people walk out with blades--but Leon has the look of a swordsman about him. Yeager's certainly known enough swordsmen to guess.]
[Well, he's going to be desperate enough to take that much. He stopped at the door; deciding whether to believe him or not. He hasn't seen his sword for a whole 2 weeks, so if there's anything...]
[Yeager smiles a little, then waves him over to one of the tables of weapons. He knows for sure that there's some relatively new stuff in there, mixed in with the blades that people haven't bothered to retrieve for some reason or other.]
What sort of sword is it? I was browsing through these earlier--perhaps I've seen it.
(OOC: I know time. Just scratch the 2 weeks off the last comment. It's 1 week.)
[When this mysteriously long man asked him about what his sword looked like, he had the paranoia that he might be trying to steal it. Leon thinks that since he's forcing himself to stay a little longer, he might as well look at other people's swords for once. His voice was still abrasive towards the man.]
I'll tell you when I see it.
[Which when he looked at the pile, there was no sword that was his own. He picked up one of the swords, since they were all unique. He wonders what other swordsmen of this world are capable of.]
[Yeager stands a bit off to the side as not to look like he's hovering over Leon, his eyes flickering to him at intervals and remaining the rest of the time on the swords. As Leon picks up one of them, gazing at it without recognition, his attention turns to it in interest.]
Oh, that is nice. I like the detail work on the hilt. Looks as though the blade could use some sharpening, though.
[He put the sword back. He's not one to take other people's weapons. ... Neither would he replace the one he's currently looking for.]
My sword isn't here.
[He then started looking at the more common swords. Why? Because he hasn't trained for a week. He needs to maintain strength and speed. During the week he's been here, he's also been to the library. He learned the map of the town and has noticed they had a place to train. It obviously means people still have to fight no matter how peaceful and free their lives are right now.]
[That gets him to wondering, naturally, whether Leon's sword has some kind of special features. He has heard of the Malnosso refusing to ship--or, he bets, confiscating--weapons or items with particularly high-tech capabilities. He'd love to pester Leon some more as to the sword's nature, but if he's going to get anything out of him, he's probably going to have to tread carefully for now.
He picks up one of the generic swords, taking a moment to examine the blade's condition, then showing it to Leon.]
If you just want a simple sword for the time being, this one will probably work. There are a couple like it, so I don't think it will be missed.
[He wondered what it was with this man. It's not like Leon hasn't seen nice people, but he always wants their motives. The question as to "why" it is Yeager comes to the weapon store often himself comes into play.]
Why is it you come to the weapon store? Is there a weapon you seek as well?
[He's not going to take the sword, so Yeager might as well put it down. He might take it though, since it is a generic sword and he needs his training. Just not now.]
[The mention of 'spells' is familiar enough, but the notion of earth and darkness being 'elements' is more foreign. And piques his interest, naturally, as does mention of any world where physics might work a little bit differently.]
How does it do that? Some sort of internal generator or concentrator?
Have your weapons still not appeared here?

[Ah, he might as well go ahead with his earlier thoughts and see if he gets a response.] Does it have any kind of special features that set it apart?

[He will just have to tell him. It's not like anything will happen.]
The sword allows me to control the elements of Earth and Darkness. It also allows me to use spells of those elements.
[Leon wants to keep it short, so he won't mention the sword's other features.]
