Lunch Box 60: Back to basics

Oct 11, 2005 19:43

Lately I've been making all sorts of not-really-Japanese stuff for my bento lunches. Which is fine; you can put anything you like in a bento box. But sometimes you just wanna get all authentic. So, here we have shrimp sushi, a rice block with shiso fumi (beefsteak plant) furikake, takoyaki, steamed string beans, and mochi waffles and sweet soy dipping sauce, both made as byproducts of the kushi dango recipe.

Yum.
