Lunch Box 255: Something fishy

Non-bento notice: I've added an Amazon Bento store to the website and stocked it with the books I use for reference and inspiration, the tools I cook with, and so on. I figured this would be an efficient way to help others find the items that have been so useful to me. Plus, I am a capitalist swine.


Today I have a pair of tuna & mayo-stuffed onigiri in the shape of ReBoot icons. I'm a big ReBoot fan, as some people know. I can't believe it never occurred to me before to make icon-shaped onigiri. Unfortunately, they don't turn into steaks when you double-click them.

I've also got some obimake enoki (the last of that batch, finally!), steamed broccoli, edamame, and taiyaki. Taiyaki, for those not in the know, are fish-shaped cakes with anko - sweet red bean paste - in the center. I have taiyaki maker for baking these on the stovetop, and I realized it's been too long since I used it, so...
