Confession time. I hardly ever eat grilled cheese sandwiches. Cheese and fried bread and nothing vegetabley at all - how healthy is that? But sometimes I get home cold and tired after my two-hour bus & train commute, and I want hot food now and don't want to do real cooking. At times like that, a grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of tomato soup are heavenly. So, here's a grilled cheese sandwich on white mountain bread, offset by some nice & healthy steamed broccoli. But then... I made a star-shaped boiled egg. It's bad enough that I used a cutesy egg mold to mutate an egg that never did anything to deserve such a fate, but then I gave it a cutesy nori face. I swear, sometimes I don't know myself. *sob*
However, there are some constants in the universe. My mother recently gave me a jar of Nutella, a chocolate & hazelnut spread. It's way too sweeeet to make sandwiches with (ala peanut butter), but I can always find a use for chocolate! This time I made Nutella-filled manjuu - steamed bubblelike pastries with Nutella in the center. Umai!
