Lunch Box 120: Where's the wagon?

Mar 24, 2006 11:13

More hot leftover-eating action! There's some white meat from that Cornish game hen on top of a sliced-in-half cafeteria roll. I only arranged it that way because I couldn't close the box over the unsliced roll, but it ended up making a nice little chicken sandwich. On the other side is a generous helping of stir-fried broccoli and lotus root. Yesterday's baked lotus chips didn't work out, but this cooked up fine. Lotus roots are very fibrous, so the key is parboiling them for about 10 minutes before the regular cooking phase. And finally, grapes and another ichigo daifuku.

Sadly, I didn't get to take this lunch to work as I had intended. I ended up going to my doctor instead, where I was diagnosed with coccydynia. In layman's terms, a sprained butt. No, I'm not kidding. Don't worry, I'm not that badly off, I just have to sit down very gingerly for the forseeable future.
