Ah, but the moon's promises...

Perhaps it will be the same in ten years.

No matter how much time passes, I will wait.

ten years away from cheshire kittens..., did that even affect the cheshire cat?

Have you not heard the old adage? As it goes...

I haven't heard that before. Ah, hey, do you know..... where it comes from?

I'm unsure of its origin. The earliest form I recall... gatil-ene...dù-im itud ni ...mmmh... niĝura ugu...de šiten a'udteĝiba-bi-ak ...I believe? Please don't hold me to it. It's been quite some time since I used that language. More recently: þæt mōnena béotas áberan ná wæstme.

In rough translation, they read "vows built upon the moon disappear with time's passage" and "the moon's promises bear no fruit" respectively. As far as I've been able to interpret, they mean the wax-and-wane cycles of the moon are unreliable, thus promises made upon it are also unreliable.

I've since found it in this language within a childrens' book, this time as "but the moon's promises, what are they worth?" Uncertainty has always been a common theme. You could say its nature makes it very dishonest.

Ah... how embarrassing.

Please forgive me. I followed a long tangent. All this must be very boring for you.

No, I like it. Sometimes, I feel like I don't know enough about this world.... Ah! But you seem to know a lot...

Perhaps it was not a bad thing then.

I believe your feeling is normal. Even for me, no matter how much I have learned, there will always be more.

I like that about it.

I feel the same as well. I wouldn't enjoy my time here if it was stagnant.

No, it keeps changing... just like the moon's promises, right?

Somewhat like that. There are differences, of course, but the similarities are there all the same.

Does the moon mean something to you?

Um.... Well, I....

It's hard to explain.

It's no matter. If it's difficult, please don't worry about it.
