So I'm a big fan of conservapedia. I've been using Alex's account to vandalize it by pretending I'm some sort of right wing nutjob, which pretty much means that no matter what I do, so long as I stay in character, they can't ban me. But news on my changes later, because this is way too funny:
So I came across the article on Ecuador. I read it and laughed, so I checked the edit history. The original entry read thusly:
Ecuador is a country in northern South Africa. It is near the Equator, that is why it is called Ecuador, which means Equator in [[Spanish]]. Countries near Ecuador are [[Colombia]], [[Peru]], and [[Panama]].
So some awesome soul saw the ludicrous mistake and made the following edit:
Ecuador is a country in northern South Africa[citation needed]. It is near the Equator, that is why it is called Ecuador, which means Equator in [[Spanish]]. Countries near Ecuador are [[Colombia]], [[Peru]], and [[Panama]].
Hahahaha! But it gets better. Somebody else, seeing the trend, did this:
Ecuador is a country in northern South Africa[citation needed]. It is near the Equator, that is why it is called Ecuador, which means Equator in [[Spanish]]. Countries near Ecuador are [[Colombia]], [[Peru]], and [[Panama]]. Which are separated from South Africa by the Atlantic Ocean.
Now, here's the most amazing part of this tale. The creator of the site, Andrew Schafly, son of the famous right-wing hag Phyllis Schafly, saw the last edit, assumed it was vandalism and reverted the article back to the previous version! Apparently, conservatives believe Ecuador is in South Africa!
So what I'm going to to is I'm going to fill in the citation by putting in a link to the article itself. Oh God, this is so much fun!
