I began to love you because you were just you. There was nothing fake about the way you smiled, and even if it were, you weren't very good at it. It was the way you'd laugh at your own failure of jokes, and just the way you would look at me.
You were real. Real when the world we lived in, the fantasy that seems so perfect from the outside, was nothing but a filtered glass that hid the destruction and chaos behind it. I feel for you because you were the anchor that reminded me the difference between reality and my act, kept me from hallucinating.
The dream that everyone wants, it's become a fog that blurs my sanity and I can't think anything rational anymore. I'm drunk and so far gone that if the voices were to tell me to hold my breath, I would do so while they laughed at the purple-ling of my cheeks.
There have have been times where similar situations existed, but I didn't get very far until you yanked me from it; yelling at me, shaking me till I shook all over, nothing but a heap of tears in your arms.
