is it bad that one of the only reasons i want to see 'the dark night' is because heath ledger is dead now? i think it's creepy that someone can be dead for months now but then still be seen post-humously in a movie. Creepy in a fascinating way? maybe i'm the creepy one.

je vais a Paris en 31 jours!!! i'm taking french right now, better late then never, n'est-ce pas? and the professor uses all these examples like, when you're at a cafe in paris, when you want to find your way around le metro...and i'm sitting there repeating back things she says but slowly realizing that these situations will be completely real in a few days not just confined to the pages of a beat-up french textbook.

i'm still a little nervous though, to be gone for that long (four months). i have a bunch of first-day scenarios running through my head, but still no idea what it'll be like once i'm there. i hope i fit in? and that the french won't laugh at me when i try to speak their language? ahhh, mostly the first question.

i applied to be a national geographic correspondent while i'm studying abroad. cross your fingers. that would be amazing to have some photographs published.

i'm getting a new license on monday. hopefully i'll be able to take a new picture so i won't have to carry my 15 year old "hanson" mug shot around with me when i'm 21 and trying to order drinks. (by the way, the jonas brothers remind me of hanson but with black hair, anyone else?)

i'm glad the gap fire near goleta is under control now. yiiikes.

my summer is disappearing
