Actually I thought that maybe you could read my article and tell me what you think? It's the least scientific from everything I have written, it's in English, however, about Italian words.

Well, it is a very interesting article! You did a very good research of Italian words and you fully understood their meaning. I can also confirm that the word "paisan" is not fully Italian, so it must be Italian American: I am from Sicily and I know well even the vernacular idiom (maybe this is why I understand the mafia register and fully comprehend it) and I never heard it.
By the way I completely agree with your conclusions and I assure you that even in Italian those words are evocative and don't loose their attributes, because as you well said, they're very peculiar of mafia register.
