On the First Day of Summer Vacation, I Gave to Me...

May 09, 2007 23:17

So I don't get a summer vacation this year. Prolly not next year either. The trials and tribulations of no longer being in school. Ce'st la vie, I suppose. Appologies to those who speak/read French and are now grinding their teeth at my horrible rendition. Hablo un pequito Espanol, and that's about it.

Today started what I'm going to call my summer vacation, though. Basically, that consists of all the days in the coming week or two where I have nothing to do but go around filling out job applications and waiting to be called back or actually hired. I have three simple stipulations: I will NOT work food service again, I must have Sundays off, and I'd preffer to work mornings to mid afternoons with my evenings and nights free to relax and spend time with my friends upon their return to Boone. Whenever that may be. This could present to be a challenge, but I think I can make it work. There must be somebody out there within the relatively close proximity of my apartment that will hire me. Somewhere out there. I do believe in spooks. There's no place like home. There's a place for us. I like to be in America. Ooooooooooooooooooooo-klahoma...sorry. When I start spouting song lyrics, it's pretty much all I do for a while.

Today I did...nothing. It felt great. I got up around 12:45, did nothing for a while, showered, reput on PJs, watched backlogs of Heroes, CSI: Miami and NCIS, did nothing for a while, watched Criminal Minds while exchangeing text messages with Shannon, watched CSI: NY, and now I'm here telling you about how much TV I managed to take in today. Oh, and I continued readng Farenheight 451. That book...wow. I mean, wow. It's written to be read at such a fast pace, I can't even keep up with it--and I have ADD! Geez, it just makes my head spin! Looking back now, I find it rather ironic that I'm reading a book about censorship and the peoples dependence on TV and the electronic media and spending a day doing nothing but cruisin the net and watching TV shows. Granted, there were no white clowns dancing around to psychadelic backdrops and laughing meniacly while dismembering each other, but still. TV is TV.

Anyhoo, I'mma split. I want to get in another coupla episodes of somethinerother before I go to bed tonight. And the neighbors are being loud and obnoxious and prolly drunk. Just in case you were wondering.

Cheers!
