So on Saturday afternoon I went to London to meet lovely Lauraface to see the Cruxshadows. I'd only met Laura a couple times before so didn't really know her at all well, but that didn't matter cos she's actually great and we seem to have a lot in common. So yay. The gig was at the Underworld so we went to Camden... there were some horrors about, let me tell you! It was pretty distressing. Although the people at the gig were all pretty hideous, it wasn't quite as bad as I expected. We only queued for about 20 minutes then went in, and it was pretty empty so we strolled to the front. Which was GOOD as I hate standing around waiting. We could sit on the front of the stage when nothing was going on, yay.
The first band on was Trauma Pet - a ginger male guitarist who looked like he didn't belong there, a blonde female singer with a lisp (cute) and a bassist who jumped around like a mad woman. That was pretty entertaining. They were quite good, but seemed like they were pretty new to the whole thing. Next up were Swarf. According to Laura the singer either got fatter and older or they changed singers in the last few years.... either way she was a great front woman, really friendly towards the crowd and clearly a bit mad. Her dancing was fun. Actually, she was pretty fun in general. So that was good. Finally it was time for the Cruxshadows. The band all came on and started playing and suddenly Rogue leapt up out of the crowd and on to the stage. It was almost as magic as the Cheryl disappearing and reappearing thing that Girls Aloud did <3 They were fantastic right from the start. In case you are not familiar with them, let me inform you. There are two HOT dancers who do backing vocals and really exciting dance routines. There is a HOT violinist wearing a very short skirt. There is a HOT keyboardist who wiggles a lot. And the guitarist looks like he got lost on his way to auditions for a punk band. But he's probably the most attractive man with a mohawk I've ever seen. Which isn't saying much but whatever. And then there is Rogue the singer, who is actualy pretty ugly really but you kinda don't notice, he's very charismatic and exciting. He did lots of climbing around and disappearing in the crowd... at one point he ran off, came back with a bar stool, and disappeared into the crowd with it. I'm guessing he probably climbed on it somewhere. Laura and I had the hot blonde dancer (Jessica) right in front of us which was exciting. Although I was about 1 centimetre from being kicked in the face by her at one point. There was a really awful girl next to us and I think Jessica was actually trying to kick her, haha. Anyway, there was lots of dancing and smiling and it was a lot of fun in general. The only bad thing was whenever Rogue came over and stood at the edge of the stage in front of us... I had to choose between having his crotch in my face, or looking up and having him sweat on my face. Yum. He did smell nice though. During the last song he dragged a couple girls up on stage, and the hot violinist came and dragged me and Laura up. Haha. Something I never though I'd do, but it was actually way fun. Yay! By the end the stage was full of people and security were having a fit, haha. Looking forward to the new album in January, I love the new single (which beat Beyonce to No1 in the US dance chart lol). In summary, the gig was fantastic, Laura was wonderful (and hot) and I had a great time. Aside from the hideous crowd it was pretty much the sexiest gig ever.
Yesterday we had a roast which was yummy, I made lemon meringue pie which everyone was way impressed with. I was glad because it meant I was busy and not up in my room by myself - yesterday was my Nan's birthday party thing and I couldn't go, so I would have been sad if I'd had time to sit around thinking about it. Today I really really need to do a lot of work. POO.
