Strawberries

He knew he wouldn’t need a blindfold. When Mohinder realised what Gabriel was planning, he knew his eyelids would be dragged down by the gravity of arousal. He lay, hungering for a touch to his lips, his body pinned by the hot weight of his lover. The sensation of a finger twirling one of his soft curls brought goose bumps to his skin and he had to stop himself from looking up into those hazel eyes.

Gabriel ran the pitted skin of the fat strawberry over Mohinder’s bottom lip. He saw wetness form on Mohinder’s tongue as the fresh scent hit his nostrils and let the tip of the fruit drift onto it. He watched Mohinder’s pink tongue lick gently at it before pulling it away and sinking his own teeth into it. He bit off a juicy chunk and held it between his lips, lowering it slowly into Mohinder’s mouth. As Mohinder pressed his lips around it the juice ran down his chin and Gabriel let go of the strawberry to lap it up.

Mohinder hardened against him and moaned as the taste of the fruit flooded his wet mouth. Gabriel smiled and glanced over at the three punnets he had picked up. This should last them the night….

Nightmare

“Shh, shh, it’s okay….” Sylar straddled Mohinder and held him close as he gasped into his ear. He brushed his fingertips over his back rhythmically as a tear dropped onto his bare skin. As Mohinder started to sob he took him by the shoulders and looked into his eyes. “I’m here, look at me. Look at me baby. Just a dream.” He kissed him softly on the forehead and whispered. “Same thing again?”

Mohinder nodded sadly and took a deep breath, squeezing Sylar to him. Sylar rolled back to lay by his side and took him into his arms, holding him within the blankets to hurry him back to sleep. Mohinder loved him, he loved Mohinder. He hadn’t hurt or scared him in 15 years, but the subconscious mind is no respecter of time served. He could comfort him, hold him, brush away his tears, but the fact remained that when Mohinder’s nightmares came, it was Sylar’s face that he saw.

Kiss

Sylar looked at the note, glad that Mohinder wasn’t here to see him smile. It simply said “Back by 7, M”. But it was the next symbol that had made Sylar’s day. It was just two lines intersecting. His reading told him it was the Roman numeral for ten, in morse code it was dash dot dot dash. But in this instance, it meant something different. It meant forgiveness, acceptance, comfort, love. What Mohinder had actually written was “Back by 7, M. x”

Water Sports

“Well are you going to explain yourself?”

Gabriel sighed. “Mohinder why can’t you just trust me for once?”

Mohinder held up the laptop to try and illustrate his point. “This is my work laptop. I’ve told you to use the PC if you want to…amuse yourself.”

“I was researching stuff we could do on our vacation!”

“Oh really?!” Mohinder put down the laptop and stalked over to loom over Gabriel, who was sat twirling irritatingly in a swivel chair. “Well water sports I could believe, but since when did the Marriot Hotel San Diego offer bondage, leather and roleplaying?”

Gabriel stood, pulling Mohinder towards him and growling into his ear. “Like I said, things we could do on out vacation…..”

Self-defence

“I never meant for this to happen. I’m not saying I’m sorry it did. It must have been the first time I ever surprised you. In every sense of the word. I thought you’d get up. I honestly thought you would.

I wish…I wish I could take it back. I am sorry I did it, what’s the use in lying to the dead? Come on, you knew were on borrowed time. All the risks you took, the enemies you made, your stupid impetuous decisions. I just didn’t want it to be me.

You came out of nowhere. Maybe you were too complacent, maybe you thought I wouldn’t be armed. Did you see my face before you died? I thought it was a minute or two before you died, you seemed to be looking at me as I held you. I hope you saw me. I hope you saw that I was crying.”

He zipped the body bag back up, leaving the drawer open, and walked towards the door of the morgue. Turning, Mohinder blinked tear away as he finished the speech he had forced himself to give.

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry Sylar.”
