Summer Ball

Wow.

We went to Edmund's firm's Summer Ball.

They hired the Dinosaur Hall in London's Natural History Museum. We had a champagne reception to start with (naturally, Edmund volunteered me to drive home) and were able to go round the dinosaur exhibits - interesting to see Bilbo's Ancestors especially the full size T-rex model! Quite amazing. We dined next to the original skeleton of a diplodocus (I think!)

It all nearly didn't happen. At least, the 1912 dress didn't happen so I raided my wardrobe for something else. Sadly not a lot in there so I wore a simple taffeta skirt and "bustier" top (which was horrid because it doesn't fit anywhere).

I was harrassed in work, late leaving and then had to cope with rushing around Liverpool Street Station buying last minute items before fighting my way onto the underground system to get to Edmund's office. Once I got there, I really wished I could have gone home but as I had got that far it wouldn't have been nice to Edmund for me to decide to go home so I got myself dressed and we made our way across town to the museum.

It all got better after that.

This was the Dinosaur Hall where we dined:

I think this is one of Edmund's colleagues:

This is Edmund and me at the champagne reception. I hate the way I look in this picture.

Edmund and me again. I'm looking a little better here.
