It was so hard to leave for work this morning, listening to more mewing meaning "let me out to run around and explore!" Since he is too young yet for the feline AIDS test, the vet says we should keep him separate until he is 12 weeks (he is about 6 now). That is going to be difficult. :)
*nods* Keeping Rowan separate is going to be heart-wrenching on humans and kitten both... Knowing that it's the right (safe) thing to do doesn't make it easy. *grins* What you need is a second kitten to keep him company. Maybe one of his littermates?
I tried that on S., but surprisingly it didn't work. Four cats is too much, she says.
Well, we let him run around the house when we are here. So he's out in the morning for about an hour or so, out at noonish for another hours or so, and out quite a bit in the evening. This morning I heard S. say about his crying, "This is going to be the death of me!"
Usually I go back to sleep for an hour after she leaves for work (she leaves early), but this morning I am here at the computer so he can be out and playing, not crying.

A crying kitten ranks right up there with a crying baby in the "sounds that are impossible to ignore" department.
Awww, I love how you are helping him settle in.
