costumes in less than 15 minutes? give it a try.
so i psyched myself up and we are going to go to this one halloween party tonight, at least briefly. we need a break from ironing clutch parts and cooking shows.
i guess i am wearing the world's lamest non-storebought pirate fangirl costume: tricorne hat, black wig w/ black + white dread falls (if i can find them), black t-shirt with "i heart pirates" only the heart is a skull + crossbones, black layered fishnetty fabric skirt, fishnet tights (i don't think i own stripey tights anymore), black boots
my only other option is a sort of jem costume, but i don't have a pink wig so i wouldn't be jem herself: purple + blue wig, various large jewelry, hot pink jem t-shirt*, mini skirt (may have to bust out an unhemmed vinyl "i'm leaving in 20 minutes" special, but it certainly isn't the first time), colored fishnets over colored tights, silver go-go boots that look more 80s than 60s anyway
the jem costume seems more likely to be a hot mess depending on what colors i have. but the jem t-shirt is funny since remember how store-bought costumes were always self-referential when you were a kid?)
and options for james:
willard = hair slicked back, black suit, big white rubber rat
queer eye = suit jacket over a tight t-shirt (possibly a sleeveless shirt with a palm tree scene that he was talking about getting rid of), tight diesel jeans, black pointy oxfords, carrying a hair dryer and giving catty critiques
he thinks everyone will vote for willard but likes the other costume better.
