"Everybody wants to go to heaven
but nobody wants to die."
-David Crowder (track 1 of "A Collision")

many of you guys might have heard me walking around school today all jolly singing this song..cause its fun...and kind of funny too..and the lyrics are pretty true.

i think were pretty extreme people by nature..whatever we do, we want to be the best at..or maybe thats just me..well it cant be just me, b/c this school is filled with amazing, talented people.

i think the first impulse we get when we hear those lyrics is
"hmm yeah thats true..people should realize.." or "they dont understand..." or..i donno
but basically along the lines of..thats true in general for most people, but not me.

i would even go so far to say that most of us would sya that we would die for jesus. that if someone were threatening us..defend jesus and die, or reject him and live, that we would say we DEFinitely would defend jesus.
That if we had to choose between jesus and holding onto something or someone..that we would obviously choose jesus.

Im getting pretty tired of all these hypothetical, glorious dreams. Unless you go to Uganda, people aren’t going to point a gun at your head for following jesus. Unless jesus came back tomorrow youre never going to have to choose between physically following jesus and physically pursuing your wealth, fame and girlfriends.

Would you believe a fat rich man if he said that he would give up one $1000 outfit to save the lives of 5 homeless people?
Im sure if there were 5 homeless people held at gunpoint in front of his face, with their captors demanding $1000 dollars that he would pay it. But there are homeless people dying like flies during the winter time in the cities because they can’t find a blanket. Not even going to mention outside the US.

Jesus is not a freaking back up plan. He is not something you push to the back of your mind to free you from guilt trip so that you can reaccept him and he can re-forgive you.

Yes he is always overjoyed to reforgive, if that means you are turning back to him. He is always willing to take away all your sin for you-in fact he already did. How? He died for you. Now if you really feel like youre willing to die for him, do it. Now. Circumstances don’t need to be screaming in your face for you to act.

ok so i wrote that entry a week ago. but was hesitant to post it, since it sounds really rebukish and i was really frustrated at the time. sorry if you feel targetted, but these are just my direct thoughts, unedited. all of these should really be taken as encouragement to ACT on God's word..because God wants the best for our lives, and the best doesnt come without obeying him.
