Omg. I was putting up some Christmas decoration and dropped something behind the couch. So I pushed the couch away so I could reach for it and then...
BWAM. I turned around just in time to see a small spark fly down. No more electricity.
Now, I live in the biggest student flat of Nijmegen. There are about, I don't know, 300 rooms in here, probably all connected to each other. So in a flash I saw all those students doing really important school things and I saw the house master watching on a screen how a huge red arrow flashed, pointing to hall 125 room 8, my room. I freaked and immediately closed the curtains and jumped into bed, hiding underneath the covers, my eyes wide open, waiting for the sound of footsteps in the hallway, for that knock on the door, for the angry voices.
But of course, nothing happened. So after texting
showmeyourpants I got up and investigated a little, listening at the door. I did hear voices there, but this morning people were painting the common room so I wasn't sure if they were evil tech people or harmless painting people. I went back in and then plop! Electricity was back.
Still, really creepy. I think a Christmas light snapped or something, but I see no burn marks or anything.

Anyways. It's that time of the year again... (and I don't mean the holiday season!)
So yes. I should actually be studying right now, but I am suffering from post-traumatic stress (the electrical thing), so I can't. Hopefully it'll be over by tomorrow. I already screwed up my first exam, I want the rest to be good.

I went to a cremation last week of a close friend of my mother's. It was really weird. I mean, she wasn't really that close to me but the closest person to me as far as dead persons are concerned. A month ago she was diagnosed with cancer and then BWAM. Over. Like the electricity. It's just so weird.
Poll death I know I am.

But not right now, for yay! Christmas! We're going to get a tiny tree of our own which we can decorate and then yay everything will be awesome.

I saw The Departed the other day, that was good. Jack Nicholson is so freaky. And Leonardo di Caprio had a good day/week/couple of months as well. I don't know what it is with him. Sometimes I just hate him for being such a gross boy (Titanic, of course, but I also found him really annoying in The Aviator) and other times he just cool and groovy (I liked him in Gangs of New York).
I also saw Perfume. After seeing the trailer a couple of months ago (omgsquee Alan Rickman with a crazy wig!) I bought and read the book, which was simply amazing. The movie was good too. Where Süskind described everything so well that you could imagine the smells as if they were there, the movie did the same with images and sounds, I think. I liked it. And yay, Alan Rickman! Still, I find it disturbing that they don't have popcorn in all of the theatres in Nijmegen.

But yeah. I'm off now. Need to do some grocery-shopping and then cooking (ie: messing everything up so that all that's left is some really crappy and tasteless meal...). Wish me luck!
