WOW what an exciting night. my mom's art class she teaches at Acadamy Prep got invited to the Lightning Game tonight. and all the Art on Ice people (including myself) got invited as well. but it wasn't just any ordinary invitation, we got to use Brad Richards' and Vinny Lecavalier's PRIVATE SUITES!!!! They were so cool. you walk in, and there is a buffet of food waiting for you and leather chairs and HD tv's all over the place. I was in the Brad Richards suite called "Richys Rascals", which is his foundation charity thing for children with cancer and other terminally ill diseases. I mean, if you have the money to donate thousands for a good cause, why not? Pretty cool. anyways, the suites were amazing. and oh yeah, there was a game too. Not only did it go into overtime, it ended in a SHOOTOUT (what they use in hockey when overtime ends in a tie)...AND! Brad Richards got a goal in the shootout, which was very cool.
Oh, did I mention I got to meet Vinny Lecavalier and Brad Richards after the game? =) I got a picture of each signed, as well as my jersey signed by both and a puck by Brad Richards. very cool. I took many many many pictures, so here you all go!
Here is the suite I stayed at:
Carolyn Klova and Jim Jenkins, two very awesome Arts Center people:

here are some action shots, there are MANY more but because LJ is kind of slow I'll just upload these:
Ok so the Panthers were making some pretty dirty hits in this game, so the crowd began chanting "WE WANT ROY, WE WANT ROY!" talking about the new guy we acquired this season named Andre Roy, who basically is useful for starting fights, kicking ass, and taking names. well minutes after the coach saw these dirty hits and heard the chants, he let him go out there. AS SOON as he went out there he homed in on the player who everyone hated and absolutely PUNISHED him:
oh and then I ventured over to Vinny Lecavalier's private suite (since we had BOTH) to see what that was like:
after being down 2-1 most of the game, I managed to catch this AMAZING picture of Martin St. Louis' goal to tie the game and send it into overtime. check out the puck IN MID AIR:
hahahahaha
check out this sweet belly-flop diving save by Denis:
alright! after the game we went down to the press room and waited for the Vinny and Brad to come out, ahhh! they were so nice, and I mean geeze they must have been exhausted after such a long game. they talked to every single kid and signed everything anyone gave them (there were about 15 kids and 8 or 9 adults there each with 3 or 4 things). Very cool:
Vinny and Rob
Brad Richards:
thanks! sorry if I made any computers lag out there!
All the best,
Quinn
