So! I have yet to post about this past saturday!
Firstly... Lindsay, Shannon and I got together for the first time in a looooong time! I picked them up and we headed for downtown for our usual: lunch and then shopping :D We had lunch at Irish Times, for old times sake, and then just puttered around till Lindsay needed to head for work. After dropping Lindsay off at home, Shannon and I hung our for a bit longer and went shopping at Mayfair... Then I drove her home.
Shannon is moving back to Kelowna soon, so we figured we should make an effort to hang out! And as luck happened, we were all free, for once! We've all been so busy with school [Me and Lindsay], work [all three of us], and boyfriends addicted to drugs [Lindsay]... So it was nice to hang out with them again. And we're planning on having our yearly, Anti-Valentine's Day evening together tomorrow! Hahaha
Saturday evening, Suzy and I were planning on hanging out and having a girls night, but she remembered that she'd promised some of her friends from the dance school she teaches at, that she'd support them that night at Hugo's. Now... Support with what, you ask... Well...! Hugo's put on a girls night of sorts! They had the sex shop, Garden of Eden, with a booth set up, and Suzy's friends teach pole dancing and lap dancing, so they were there to promote their school! They also had free appy's, girly drink specials, and! They weren't letting guys in till 10! Haha it was SO much fun! Her and I didn't participate in the pole/lap dancing, but we watched and just hung out and had some drinks. And then later, her friend Rob met us there, and brought a friend of his...
WOW. Are some guys conceited or what! He started off a little creepy... Said he remembered Suzy from back in the day, and Suzy has NO idea who this guy is. And then him and I ended up getting shoved into conversation by Rob. [Thanks Rob. Not.] And we started talking and stuff, seemed like a nice enough guy; he's in the army, back from Afganistan on sick leave for getting run over by a tanker (!), knows a few people that I know...
So you're thinking how can he be conceited? Yeah well... we were talking about how nice it is to have a career, compared to working in retail or something. And then he's like, "Yeah, I couldn't be with a girl who only made $500 a month, if compared to me bringing in $1000. I think both should bring in around the same amount of money; I don't want to be taking care of a girl that way." Suzy and I looked at each other and our jaws dropped. It wasn't even what he said, but just how he said it! *Eye roll* Some people!
So, to be polite, I was still talking to him, and he kept trying to put his hand on my lap and was asking my "situation." [Aka single or not]... Sooo I elabourated and said that I have this ex-boyfriend, of whom I'm on and off with, etc etc, [not a complete lie... ;P ] totally making it seem like I was way more un-single than I actually am... And he's like "It's too bad you aren't single, you're really cute." hahahaha So I replied, "Oh, I'm single. I just chose to tell you I'm not." And he glared at me and I totally ignored him for the five more minutes before I made Suzy leave... [And I didn't have to push to hard for her to want to go either, she couldn't stand the guy either...] hahaha But wow. Some people. Her and I just could not believe that he said that... Oh well. haha
