hoping for a hedgehog
now that i am settled into my new home on atlas ave, i need to start aquiring some roommates.
daniel is great, but i don't like living without pets!
yesterday i was perusing all the animals at the humane soceity and toronto animal services.
i totally want "Thor" the foster kitty, http://www.torontohumanesociety.com/adopt/seniorcats.asp but i don't think daniel will be up for kitty palliative care.
as for the toronto animal services, there are 2 seriously cute hampsters and a great bunny that i could totally love.
then i checked out kijiji and craigslist.
on craigslist i saw a posting for a FREE HEDGEHOG

clearly, this is a message meant just for me.
i spent an unusually large amount of time peeking under hedges in europe at night and failed to see a hedgehog. i was sorely dissappointed.
i hope they call me back. i totally want the shy little guy,
i would name him spiny the elder, in honour of the ancient historian pliny the elder who documented hedghog domstication in ancient rome.
i'm holding my breath and reading all about how to care for a hedgehog.
i would be such a great hedgehog owner. feed him fresh grubs every night and give him baths, and paper towel tubes. if videos on youtube are a good indication of hedgehog behaviour in captivity, there is nothing they like more than walking around with a paper tube on thier heads.
