One Acts and so on and so forth
So this weekend was one acts.
Friday went to hell in a handbasket. See, I stayed up until 12 the night before getting sound on a cd b/c last year they said don't put it on a disk b/c there's no way to get that to play. So I had it burned to a cd. But our stupid shit sound system can't read burned cd's, well it can, but it takes it 5 min to start (no joke, u press play, and 5 min later it starts) so Miss Flora said if i coudl get it on an IPOD we could hook it up to the sound system. So I found someone (Justin) who would do that except then there was no computer with the softwear and no way to hook it up. So I found someone else (Collin) who had his father pick him up so he could take it to his house and put it on his IPOD there. Then he came back and we found we didnt' have the cord to hook up the IPOD to the sound system. So we decided to play it through a boombox. Except collin had accidently left my cd w/ the sounds at his house so he had to go get that with Al. So then we discovered we could play the boombox through the God mic, except that wasn't on correctly during the actual show so, after all that, there was no sound the first night. I apologize to everyone I yelled/snapped/took my frustration out on that day.
The actors did beautifully though so it wasn't bad at all. I heard someone saying during a break we had between the first 3 shows and the last 2 "That was pretty good, at least the last one was" So kudoes to Josiah and Heather for being extraordinary actors who can be incredible despite technical difficulties (oh yeah, there were light issues too).
Saturday went MUCH better with tech. And Josiah and Heather managed to do even better than they had done the day before so that night was fan-freaking-tastic. Oh, and Josiah had written and played and recorded the music we had for it, which sounds so awesome. And Mrs. Flora asked us if we wanted to take it to conference, so I think we did pretty damn well :).
I think I use the word 'so' too much.
Anyway, I did my reading logs (mostly) and that was thrilling. Then I went to Keegan's party thing and that was awesome. Oh yeah, he definately gets the best boyfriend award... again for coming to both nights of one acts, especially the second night when he said he couldn't come and then did b/c he's awesome like that.
So all in all this weekend was pretty nifty. I have an AP US test tomorrow and a spanish test AND musical theatre stuff due though and that's NOT nifty at all.
