i know this is a bad idea but sometimes in painting class i just really want to eat my oil paints. they're so rich and squeezing them out of a tube is weirdly pleasing. and the colors are so evocative of delicious foods:
alizarin crimson - just like pomegranate seeds
terre verte -sauteed spinach
chrome yellow -lemon curd (but strangely lemon yellow does not remind me of lemon)
permalba white has the EXACT texture and look of really thick, rich whipped cream.
raw umber is like just-made ganache....
oh now i'm hungry.
mmm cobalt turquoise. that does not look like any sort of naturally occurring food, but if i did eat it, and it killed me, and then they autopsied me to see what happened, i hope it would dye my insides that color and then the person performing my autopsy would understand why i ate it, because it's SO BEAUTIFUL.
