I know you.
The boy who hides in the corner
Sharing his thoughts with the world when he knows no one is listening.
We have met before.
In a dark alleyway
Behind the theater where we sat and listened to the play
Because we had no money to get in.
That was were we had our first kiss.
I miss hearing that incoherent mumbling.
You know the one, where you sit and say your thoughts out loud
Because you'd rather someone hear it then let it drive you insane.
That was the first time you said you loved me.
Somewhere in the shuffle of clothes
We lost something that meant the world to us.
A watch, a clock, a time machine.
We didn't want to see the time flying by.
I never expected that we'd meet again like this
Behind the back of a venue, holding hands
And making faces at the sky.
We never wanted to grow up anyway.
Tonight would be the last time we'd meet.
In my front yard, laying on the grass.
Kissing and letting our feet play.
We never thought this would be how we said goodbye.
