I got it!
I received a phone call this afternoon offering me the position I was interviewed for last week. At the interview I told them that I needed to give one month's notice, so they want me to start on the 21st January. I've typed my letter of resignation, now I have to take it around and give it to my boss. He is not going to be pleased! Nevertheless, nice as he is, he'll get over it. And by giving them a date that I have to finish, they will have no choice but to be decisive.
