After our last missive, we went to the Talisker distillery on Skye; I didn't think it was possible to have stronger winds and rain until Thursday when we went to Inverness! We visited the graves of the chiefs of the Clan MacGillivray at Dunlichity and Culloden moor and found among other things the well of the dead and the graves of the clan MacGillivray from the battle. Then we went to Fort George. I'm sure that it would never be attacked - there is no way that anyone could survive the wind! We were nearly blown away on the winds that come direct from Norway. Yesterday we drove to Edinburgh-because of the wind and weather warnings, we missed going to St Andrews, and came direct here. In the afternoon we went to the Royal Yacht Brittania which was extremely impressive and really well set out for visitors.
Today (Saturday) we have spent several hours at Edinburgh Castle, visited the writers' museum and Greyfriars Bobby. We are now searching for a cash machine (they seem to be an endangered species in Edinburgh, and our B&B advised us last night that their c/card machine is broken so we will need cash.) Apart from that tiny hiccup, we continue to have a memorable time. We keep looking at one another and laughing at how amazing it is that we could actually be here.
I have just finished my tenth film (25 shots each), but Robert is taking about twice as many as me-there are many people who think I'm bad - always snapping away-, but they haven't seen him with his new camera!
