Getting used to eating differently has been an experience. Feeling what it's like to digest a steady diet of healthy foods has been interesting. Veggies, beans, fruits- they all go down differently and feel differently while churning in my stomach.
And, not the way you would think. I'm not prone to getting bloated or getting gas from foods like that. I just mean that, I like the way my stomach can empty out completely when I eat foods that it can digest more naturally. I don't have that semi full feeling all the time. When I'm ready to eat, my stomach really feels empty and ready for more food.
I'm having to retrain my brain about what it feels like to be hungry. Not that I was never hungry before but, this is a "clean" hunger- if that makes sense. I don't crave more food in my body's attempt to balance out the damage I've done with the food I've already eaten. When I'm hungry now, I feel like its because I am ready (and able) to digest some more enzymes and minerals and vitamins.
It sounds crazy. I keep re-reading this wondering how I can explain it better. I just don't know how. But, I can see this is going to be a period of adjustment.
