I decided to pull up my little basil and thyme. I have no idea what possessed me to plant it when it was so small, but that was obviously a mistake. I've got it safely in containers now. I plan to plant the thyme directly in the ground. And the basil I'm going to consolidate into one square so that I can get some okra in.
We have a place local here that I've not been taking advantage of and I plan to change that. It's a research and educational project promoting sustainable agriculture. Crabtreefarms.org. And they're having a plant sale this Saturday!
I ordered several of my plants from Territorial Seeds (.com), and I'm sure they're lovely, or let me rephrase. I'm sure they WOULD be lovely if they would simply GET HERE! They did say that they would ship the last half of April. But I'm so anxious as the weather is just ideal for planting and has been for over a week.
Anyway, got everything planted except what's coming and the strawberries I plan to buy at Crabtree Farms.
Finally got the trellis netting in the mail! It came from Burpee, it's nylon and we couldn't find *anything* like it local. I'm tickled with it though it took forever to get here.
The beans look healthy enough. It's amazing. You can almost watch them grow. I think I may have overdone it though. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with them all.
I love all the green!
'Course the pinks are nice too.
I've got peach trees now! Two of them. Tiny and cute. OH! And a blueberry bush. It's planted with my lemon balm and spearmint. The picture looked like a twig lying in the yard, so I didn't post it. But I'm super excited. We'll see how it grows in this climate.
I have no idea what this thing is. I made the picture with it 50 or so yards away so the quality is iffy. It looks catish. But not really. Kinda rabbitish? Or...I don't know. It freaks my dogs out. And me too a little to tell the truth. It doesn't respond to calling it. Like kitty, kitty. Or whistling. Hopefully it's someone pet and they'll find it.
