My favourite lipgloss . . .

. . . has been missing for at least six months now, during which time we have sold a car and acquired a new one, so I can't look there. I used to have a messenger bag instead of a purse, and my lip-glosses/lipsticks would fall out fairly often, but most of my leads on that front are dead. I  have a closet and a dresser which eat things, but I've looked through them (though not thoroughly) before. Any suggestions?

[ETA: Haven't found it, but have found several things I'd forgotten about, including a little bit of money. Hurray!]
