Lost book

I feel really stupid about this. I ordered a book from a bookstore near my workplace in central Osaka and waited a week for it to arrive. I was excited about reading it, but I had some other books to finish first, so I wasn't planning to read it right away. I picked it up at the bookstore, which is inside Osaka station, and went home by subway. It was in a blue plastic bag marked with the name of the bookstore. I don't remember seeing the book after that. A few days later when I wanted to read it, I searched my apartment (living room, bedroom, guest room, and bookshelf) - anywhere I thought I would have left the book or the bag it came in - and couldn't find it. I called the subway lost-and-found and asked if they had found it - they would have if I had left it on the subway train - and they hadn't. It's about a five minute walk from the subway station to my apartment, and I didn't stop anywhere on the way, so it's probably somewhere in my apartment, but I don't remember getting home with it at all.
