[As soon as the journal clicks on, there's a low, appreciative whistle]
Well, would you look at this! Man, oh man, I never thought I'd get my own diff'rence engine!
[There's a pause, followed by a series of quiet taps, then a soft laugh]
This is so cool! I only ever fixed up other people's journals before, now I get t'play with m'own!
[Another little pause, as if he's realising he's talking to himself a little too much]
Oh right, heh... Sorry, y'all. M'names Ellis and y'good Cap'n said I could come work for ya as a Mechanic! So, uh... I guess I ain't seen the end of m'journal fixin' days yet! If y'all have any problems with anythin' Mechanical, you feel free t'give me a shout.
I, uh... I ain't never been in a play or anythin' like that, but... Well, I guess bein' 'round here I might pick up a few things, huh? Heh. Uh, if anybody feels like givin' me a tour aroun' here, that'd be cool, too... Damn, this place is fancy...
