Yesterday I drove into the back woods of Alachua, literally onto a farm I believe to take place in what I can only describe as one of the bizarre things I've experienced. A Hare Krishna worship.
I got there late, well because, I was given bad directions among other things, but I could hear the music and chanting once I opened my car door. Looked around, and walked in the general direction of the music. After de-shoeing myself I walked in and people were doing crazy things. Crazy dances, wacky dress apparel, and a hairstyle I've never seen before. After about 25 minutes of me being awkwardly white, something happened and we were dismissed for lecture. I kept learning about this new religion, among other things, but it was all strange and different.
Then it was feast-time. I think the food is an acquired taste, but it wasn't as horrible as I thought'd be. Afterwards I wanted meat though.
I'll save most of the details because I know this is something everyone should try once. And, of course, I wouldn't want to spoil it.
Chalk up an A in chem lab. Off to a good start. chap!
Concert tonight in Jax at the Fuel Coffeehouse. Do it.
