On Saturday the sky opened up in a mad furry and dumped a whole lotta snow on Wichita. It was nice getting out of work 3 hours early to come home and shovel the driveway....with a shovel. Not a snow shovel per say. A plain ol' shovel. Before freezing our butts off i made a big pot of potato broccoli soup with lots of cheese. It was delicious and i think i ate about half a gallon of it in a 2 day period.

On Sunday I layed around and made some door cozy/draft dodgers for gifts. They were  snakes with button eyes and felt tongues. I wish i would have taken photos. I even made Brian's stepmother and sister lavender eye pillows. I don't think they really understood what they were even with the card attached. They kind of just looked at them in puzzlement.  They were scented with lavender and rosemary oil so they didn't smell like something you'd find at Bath and Body....or Kohls. But whatever. They were badass and wasted on them.

Monday was filled with more laying around, sleeping and wrapping up last minute gifts before heading over to his folks house. We had a lot of fun that night and got a lot of really nice gifts.

Tuesday we slept in and i cleaned most of the day. Preparing the house for my sisters arrival this Saturday. It felt so good to get the house CLEAN. Not just organized but actually without dust/or dust bunnies. It's amazing how dirty this house gets in such a short time.

On Wednesday we had a short day at work 11-4. But it turned into a nightmare when i got to work and saw my boss wearing a surgical mask and taking out trash. I figured it was because we had not taken out the trash on Saturday during the storm. Come to find out the meat freezers had gone down and were probably down a good 2 days. The ENTIRE store wreaked of rotten meat. It still does. All of the incense, room sprays, fans can't take it away. We had to close down the grocery room for a good 3 hours and customers were pissed. So our "lazy" day ended up being the day from hell.
