Placement Day 2
Change of plans on placement. No preppies today. Instead I did a number of articulation surveys of children in grades 1 and 3, and I wrote up reports about them, and did some general scut work like photocopying, stuffing envelopes and other admin crap. Christina (My supervisor) gave me feedback about my clinical skills and and chatted with me about each case and we discussed plans for therapy for the children. the learning curve is relatively steep- as expected... and Im rather bushed at the end of the day, even if it is only school hours.
I sat in on meetings with the various pastoral care people like the school psych and regional OT and discovered how difficult it is to save children when their parents are hideous drug addicts who pose major risks to their kiddies, and how huge the waiting lists can be for poor kids with disabilities. Geez there are alot of them at this school. Still- They all seem to get a pretty good deal at this school. There are Integration aids in every classroom.
Very worried about Nay and her illness...
Looking forward to the return of House this evening.
