"Hey Tosh," said Gwen, as she walked into the Hub. "Have you seen Jack? I want a quick word with him.
"He's up in the Hothouse," said Tosh, without thinking. A few seconds later, her brain shot into gear. "Oh, oh wait Gwen. Could you come here for a minute? I um, I have a report I think you should look at." She glanced at her computer monitor and tapped quickly on the keyboard. "Just give me a few seconds to find it."
"Can you email it to me, Tosh?" asked Gwen. "I just need to speak to Jack for a minute. I'll take a look at it afterwards, yeah?" She continued on her way towards the Hothouse.
"Oh but..." Tosh's voice trailed off, unable to think of a more urgent reason to waylay Gwen. The real reason, the one she couldn't reveal, was that she knew that Jack wasn't alone in the Hothouse. And she knew exactly what he was doing with the person he wasn't alone with. And she didn't particularly think that Ianto would care to be interrupted...not again!
"Stop right there, Cooper!" Owen's voice came from the autopsy room, seconds before he appeared on the steps. "I believe it's time for your monthly blood test!"
"My what?" Gwen's eyes widened. "What monthly blood test? You've never done one before?"
"Yeah, well when Martha was here last month, we were going through UNIT protocols, and she said they do regular testing of any of their personnel that have had interactions with alien species or tech. And while they may be a bunch of paranoid pansies, I figure she could have a point. So starting now, each member of Torchwood is going to have regular blood work done on them, to see if they've picked up anything nasty...alien or human, since the last test."
"Well can't you start with Tosh then," said Gwen. "And get back to me later."
"Nope. You're the one with the most recent alien contact, unless you count Tosh's fending off of Banana Boat at your wedding reception."
"Well I've sometimes wondered if he's really human," said Gwen, a smile on her face as she headed towards the autopsy room. "But okay then."
"Atta girl," said Owen. He gave an exaggerated thumbs up to Tosh before following Gwen, whistling out of tune as he went.
Tosh breathed a sigh of relief as turned back to her computer. She spared a quick glance at the hothouse, where the blinds had been pulled shut. Yes, that should give Jack and Ianto a little bit more alone time. She knew they'd appreciate not being disturbed. There was a smile on her face as she thought of how quickly Owen had stepped in to help. Who would have thought that being dead could improve relations with ones co-workers. Owen while alive wouldn't have cared about how much embarrassment Jack and Ianto, well, Ianto certainly, would have been caused by an unexpected interruption. Tosh sucked on the end of her biro for a few seconds and then smiled. Maybe she'd lift some of the firewalls on Owen's computer, allow him to download some more games and movies to occupy himself with during the long night hours when he wasn't on duty.

"Well this is embarrassing," said Jack. "Although definitely not the most embarrassing situation I've been in. There was that one time I was trying to sell the lost moon of Poosh and..."
"Jack, unless your story includes a way of getting us out of these chains, I don't want to hear it. I just want to hear how we're going to get out of them," snapped Ianto. "How in God's name did you manage to secure us both to the floor? Surely the whole point of bondage is that one person is free to appreciate it."
Jack shrugged, or would have if the chains hadn't held him still. "I think we'll have to wait until somebody finds us. Too bad you made me take off my wrist strap first, other wise I'd call for help."
"It chaffs too much." Ianto sighed, "How long do you think it'll be before anybody notices we're missing?"
"I run a highly efficient operation here, I'll have you know," said Jack. "Won't be too long before somebody gets worried and comes looking for us."
"Or decides they need coffee," snapped Ianto. "At this point I'm not sure whether I'm more concerned that nobody will come looking...or that they will!"

Meanwhile, down in the autopsy room, Owen had a wide grin on his face as he tightened the tourniquet around Gwen's arm.
"Why are you finding this so amusing," said Gwen, biting back a yelp as Owen stuck her with the needle.
"I just love my job," lied Owen, carefully watching as the vial filled with blood. He did love his job.
He especially loved the way that since he no longer slept, Jack had decided that he was the ideal person to sit and monitor the CCTV in the Hub at night, and had Tosh route it all to the monitor in the Autopsy bay. He especially loved it when his random clicking found his colleagues in compromising positions. Glancing at his watch, he smirked. Another hour or so and he might let Gwen or Tosh find the pair. Maybe half an hour if he was feeling generous.
