“How the hell are we going to do this?” Gwen whispered frantically. “There are only two of us!”

Ianto glanced back down into the hub, checking to see if their target was still stationary. “We need to stun and incapacitate it. There’s no way we could hold it done and sedate it at the same time.“

They both thought for a moment.

“Rhys was going to pick you up tonight wasn’t he?”

Gwen shook her head. “No.”

“Brining in anyone else would be suspicious - and mind you, we don’t have anyone else.” Ianto stated, the look on Gwen’s face acknowledging that he was right but that didn’t mean she had to like it.

Gwen sighed and pulled out her mobile. “We really need to find more people.”

“Yes we do. Now call your husband. We have to fix Jack.”

~

Gwen had done an excellent job of dying on the couch behind Toshiko’s old workstation for half an hour now.

Ianto was watching the CCTV waiting for Rhys to appear near the water tower when Jack wandered out of his office.

“Why is Gwen bitching and moaning loudly on the couch?” He asked raising an eyebrow at Gwen.

“I think she’s got a stomach bug.” Ianto clicked a few keys on the terminal. “Rhys is here to pick her up.” He nodded to the now descending invisible lift with a nervous Rhy’s looking down at them. Ianto just smiled and waved.
“Took your time!” Gwen shouted from the couch. Ianto suppressed a grin, one day they would look back at this as another saga in the Torchwood soap drama of doom.

“Let’s get you home then ‘ey” Rhys said helping his wife off the couch. “All this bloody work, it’s finally gotten to you.”

“It’s not an Alien virus, Rhys”

“How do you know that?”

“You know, Rhys has got a point Jack.” Ianto leaned in closer sending glace quickly towards Gwen. “Everyone needs a day off, once in a while.”

“Of course they do, we’re only human after all.” Jack replied, not eve a hint of suggestion in his voice.

“I don’t know about human.” Ianto whispered, “But you could defiantly use that day off.”

With one quick motion Ianto rammed and pulled the trigger on his stun gun sending Jack reeling backwards. Gwen lunged forward with the sedative, injecting it straight into his arm.

Unfortunately it wasn’t working to well. Jack caught Gwen’s arm and threw her right at Rhys sending them both to the cold corrugated flooring before rounding back on Ianto.

Jack swayed for a moment before punches were being thrown, knocking Ianto’s stun gun to the side, Jack’s foot crashing down onto his hand as he made a move to grab it one more.

Keeping his foot in place Jack un holstered his gun and put it right to Ianto’s temple “Y’know, Sorting through some memories here.” He looked distant for a second before returning to grin at Ianto again. “It seems this should have been done a while ago”

Ianto smirked. “You won’t be the last person to put a gun to my head.” He could see Rhys in the background quickly looking for some sort of weapon.

“So brave” Alien Jack sighed. “So stup-“

With a loud crack and one fluid movement Jack collapsed in a crumpled mess on the floor, leaving Rhys standing triumphantly with what was left of Gwen’s chair.

“Mental Americans.” He said. “Now what the hell is going on here?!”
