Things to be happy for today:

I have jury duty this week and my group did NOT get called to be downtown at 8:00 a.m.

Kevin pulled out the third tooth yesterday while we were at the petshop playing with the puppies. The tooth fairy left him a DVD this time since she's fresh out of Inu-Yasha graphic novels. The DVD is 4 episodes of "Sherlock HOlmes in the 22nd Century."

Took Kevin and his best friend Clint to see "The Fantastic Four" yesterday - it was a fantastic movie, loads of fun. Weakest performance, not surprisingly, Jessica Alba. Ioan Gruffudd was right tasty, had me drooling half the movie. Chris Evans was tasty in an entirely different way (beer versus champagne, and I've never been a beer drinker). Chiklis gave a very sensitive performance as The Thing. The boys and I enjoyed it very much. I didn't even mind contributing $20 for three matinee tickets.

The new "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" starts this coming weekend, I'll probably get advance tickets for that see an early Saturday matinee. Johnny Depp looks nothing like the description in the book, which we've read and listened to on CD countless times, but he's always worth watching. I hope they do the book justice.

I am staying home today even though it's a workday, because I couldn't get anyone to take care of Kevin today.

The birds are singing, the windows are open to a cool silver, blue, gold and rose morning. And I'm not dead yet - we listened to Spamalot soundrack this weekend, specifically the boys wanted "I'm Not Dead Yet" on loop ... we heard it about fifty times on Sunday. Oy!! Well, at least there's only one undesirable phrase in it ("homocidal bastard") which they apparently haven't picked up on yet. I have to find a regular Monty Python CD, see if I can get them to sing the Lumberjack song. Kevin used to.

So, I am focusing only on the good things today. To hell with the rest.
