Chapter 8
“Oh my God, Wookie... You’re so mean to your beloved boyfriend.” Yesung whines to his girlfriend when he’s being ‘thrown away’ to Kyuhyun’s apartment.
“I’m sorry, honey. It’s for our Minnie. Well, she and i will get prepare together at our apartment. It’s girl’s stuff. You stay here and be a good boy, okay? And just wait what i can do to our Minnie.” She winks at Kyuhyun who just stand there and give her a ‘why are you winking at me?’ look.
“I love you!” she smiles and kiss Yesung’s cheek before walk out of Kyuhyun’s apartment, leaving her boyfriend dumbfounded. “Girls.” He says in disbelief. Then he turns his sight to Kyuhyun.
“Hey, you copy my outfit!” Yesung exclaims, looking at the similarities of their outfits. They wear a t-shirt and wrap it with a vest.
“What? Tch! It’s different color. Besides, i look better than you in this outfit.” He says casually, smirking. And Yesung gives him a ‘Brat!’ look and glares at him.
At the other room, Ryeowook and Sungmin get prepare for their date. Ryeowook look cute and elegant with her simple purple summer dress and she wears a white bolero above it. And she’s currently still busy putting a simple make-up on Sungmin’s face. Well, she actually can do it by herself, but yeah... you know... Ryeowook’s typical. Sungmin just can’t object her.
“There. You’re finished. Awww, you look so cute and beautiful, Minnie~” Ryeowook squeals as she look at Sungmin from head to toe. Sungmin can only smile in thankful. She’s indeed beautiful, and she realize that when she looks at herself through the mirror.
I haven’t been like this since i ran away from my house. I used to have Heechul-unnie who responsibles to my style and my other personal stuffs. Heechul-unnie... my personal assistant and stylish... and also my only best friend at the same time. She has been with me since a long time ago. Going to school together, everything together, even though she is my sunbae at school back then. I miss her so much. She was the one who always kept me company wherever i was and whatever i did, loyally and willingly. I wonder what is she doing, thinking, and feeling now without me around her?
Sungmin breathes out. “Thanks, Unnie. You’re so kind to me. I like this clothes by the way.” She says it sincerely, and smiles at the women in front of her. But Heechul-unnie is still the best stylish for me, of course. She thinks to herself.
“You’re welcome, dear. You always look good with everything you wear.” Ryeowook says sincerely. Sungmin just gives her smile and nod at her thankfully.

Kyuhyun can’t wait anymore. He keeps changing the tv channel in bored. Are girls really like this if they want to go out?! Geez, what takes them so long?
He gives the remote control to Yesung who is as bored as him. He goes to the kitchen to get something to eat. He takes an apple from the fridge and cut it with a knife, doesn’t want to eat the whole apple. So, he place the half of it into the fridge again. He leans on the kitchen counter as he munch the apple. But then he fasten his chew when he hears Ryeowook’s cheeky voice from the living room. So, he eat the rest part quickly and get a drink.
The first thing Kyuhyun does when he’s back to the living room is swallow hard. He feels something weird on his stomach. He convince himself that it’s because the apple he just ate, not because of a girl.. er.. pretty girl before his eyes. He feels uneasy when his heartbeat fastening as he stare gapely at her from head to toe. To cover his awkwardness, he fakes a cough.
“Kyu!” Ryeowook calls and approach him. “Look! Sungmin looks very beautiful, doesn’t she?” She asks him cheekily, grabbing his arm and leading him to get close to Sungmin. “There! Awww, you look good together!” Ryeowook giggles, while Yesung only shakes his head at his girlfriend’s antics. Sungmin and Kyuhyun smile awkwardly, but avoiding to look at to each other.
Sungmin wears a flowery skirt and pink puff-sleeves blouse with white flat shoes. Well, it’s simple actually. But Kyuhyun doesn’t know why it looks so different. Maybe the soft make-up, the pastel candy colours, and the way her long silky black hair fall down to her back make a big impession on her entire look. He admit, he already knew that she’s actually a beautiful girl. But never she looks as beautiful as today. And it makes Kyuhyun really nervous to be near her.
“Nah! Let’s take a picture!” They are saved by Yesung, but not really helping though. Because then he grabs Kyuhyun’s DSLR camera from the desk and open it. “Yah, Hyung! Be careful!” Kyuhyun interrupts, worried about his precious camera being on clumsy Yesung’s hands.
“Relax.. i know to handle this, Kyuhyun.” Yesung answers him nonchalantly, while Ryeowook is happy with the idea. “C’mon, baby! Snap it!” Ryeowook cheerfully come to the new couple, and stand next to Kyuhyun. They take a few pictures. Kyuhyun seems forcing a smile.
“Now it’s my turn. Kyuhyun, take this.” Yesung give the camera to Kyuhyun. Then the three of them take some pictures again.
“I think i have to remove from here.” Sungmin says understandingly, letting the real couple take a pose together. But the next thing happen after they take a photo is something Kyuhyun is scared of. He knew that Ryeowook can do anything that he cannot avoid.
“And now it’s your turn!” Ryeowook exclaims. Kyuhyun knew this is going to come. He rolls his eyes and sighs. “Noona, can we just go now?!” He defends while Yesung’s laughing wholeheartedly.
“It only needs a few seconds, Kyu! C’mon, Min, you’re here.” Ryeowook drags blushing Sungmin closer to Kyuhyun. So, they are now standing next to each other. Yesung takes their picture.
“Can you two relax a little? Don’t stiffen your body like that! Get closer, please!” Yesung request impatiently. Kyuhyun knows that there’s no use to deny, so he obeys. The faster the better. Well, it’s not that he hates it. He just doesn’t want to look awkward, because when he’s near Sungmin, he can hear his own heartbeat. And he’s worried that she could hear it too.
On the other hand, Sungmin feels hesitant to be near Kyuhyun. She’s scared that Kyuhyun wouldn’t like it. But she tries to look relax and normal. So, she flash her best smile. She even tilt her head to Kyuhyun’s side. And she’s surprised that Kyuhyun do the same thing to her. So, she feel relieve inside her heart.

They’re off to Lotte World using the subway to Jamsil station. Inside the subway, Kyuhyun sits beside Sungmin. He tries to break the silence with starting conversation. He clears his throat first. “Have you been to Lotte World before?” Sungmin looks up at him, thinking for awhile.
“Yes... but the last time i went there was a long time ago, when i was still teenager. So, i kinda forgot how it looks like. I’m glad i can be there again today.” She smiles widely, showing her happiness. Kyuhyun curves his lips and nods.
When they finally arrive at Lotte World, Yesung pays for their tickets. “Today it’s all my treat! Don’t worry.” He says happily, raising his thumbs up. “Let’s go, Wookie!” He encircles his hand around Ryeowook’s shoulder and walk in together, making Kyuhyun and Sungmin left behind and walking together hesitantly.

After a few average games, the girls are tired and they’re all hungry. They decide to eat cheese burger instead, because they will get a proper meal for dinner soon. Finish with cheese burger, Sungmin request something to Yesung cutely, “Oppa, can you buy me a strawberry ice cream?” She grins.
“Of course, Min!” Yesung answers, pinching her nose. She immediately pouts, earning a giggle from Ryeowook. “Yesung can’t resist your cuteness, Min. I want one too, honey!” Ryeowook asks for ice cream too, while Kyuhyun’s watching the scene with a big smile.
The next game is Gyro Drop. Ryeowook and Sungmin are not sure in the beginning, but the boys convince them that it’s okay. Kyuhyun offers his hand to Sungmin gentlemanly when they’re going up to the venue. Sungmin takes his hand, smiling thankfully.
When the machine starts, Sungmin can’t hide her nervousness. She bites her lower lip as they start going up slowly. Kyuhyun notices it, so without thinking twice, he takes her hand with his. “Errr... it’s okay, don’t worry.” He assures her, a little bit hesitant. Sungmin’s surprised with his sudden treatment, but she doesn’t complain though. She likes it. She smiles to herself as she’s calming down now.
Kyuhyun doesn’t know why he did it. Something inside him makes him doing it. He only wanted to assure her. But as their hands intertwined, he feels relieve that Sungmin seems enjoying it. He smiles to himself, feeling her soft and warm hand in his for the first time.
They are screaming their lungs when the the Gyro Drop falls down from only-God-knows-how-many-heights. Many couples are tightening their intertwined hands as they feel like falling down from the sky, including Kyuhyun and Sungmin. When it’s over, they look at each other and laugh as they still can feel the weird sensation in their stomach. Kyuhyun hops to the ground happily, followed by Sungmin. Yesung elbows Ryeowook and glance at them. “It seems our matchmaking mission is success, baby...”
“I knew they will make a good couple from the first i met Sungmin.” Ryeowook giggles at her own idea. On the other hand, Kyuhyun and Sungmin are too engrossed to realize that their hands still intertwined. It looks like they already feel comfort with each other’s hold until they don’t want to let go.
Yesung and Ryeowook don’t bother to talk about it, they don’t tease them. They just let them be, because they’re happy to see them like that. People maybe mistake them as a real couple just by the look of their happy faces and intertwined hands. They’re still holding hands while walking around happily, pointing at something caught their eyes, laughing together with the matchmakers. They even don’t realize when they finally let go of the other’s hand. It’s just flowing without scenario.

When it’s already 6 PM, they decide to have dinner. So, they walk to the Shopping Mall where they also can find food center. Yesung and Ryeowook who are currently holding hands lovingly, walk in front of Kyuhyun and Sungmin.
“How do you feel? Do you enjoy this?” Kyuhyun asks Sungmin. They’re not as awkward as before. They seem more relax now after walking together in almost a day.
“Are you kidding me? Of course, i enjoy this. It’s been awhile since i took a walk around the city. I miss this moment.” She announce it cheerfully, can’t stop smiling as they continue to search the good restaurant. Kyuhyun thinks to himself that he doesn’t regret at all when he finally agreed to come with Ryeowook here, because he can see happy face of Sungmin.
Sungmin suddenly gasp hard and stop when something or someone catch her attention. She immediately clutches Kyuhyun’s hand and turn him to the opposite direction in a quick motion. It makes him confused. “H-Hey, what are you doing? Sungmin! What happened? Is there something--?” Kyuhyun can’t continue his sentence as Sungming shoo him to be quiet. She drags him into the bookstore.
She breathes out in relief when she thinks she’s out of sight. “I saw Siwon.” She says in horror before Kyuhyun ask her again. “What? Who?” Kyuhyun ask her cluelessly.
“Choi Siwon! My Fiance! I just saw him at the japanese restaurant there.” Sungmin pause, so does Kyuhyun. To say his name is somehow giving her goosebumps, she doesn’t know why. Kyuhyun notices her scared expression, he gulps. “Are you sure?” He asks her carefully. She just nods, staring blankly at the floor.
“Can we go home now, Kyuhyun-sshi?” She pleads.
“Yea... okay, but-“ Kyuhyun’s sentence once again cut. This time is by his phone rings. He looks at the caller ID. “It’s Ryeowook-noona...”
“Can you explain to her that we have to go home first now?”

They ride home by subway in silence. Sungmin’s eyes looks so lost, staring outside the window. She thinks her life is already coloured by the presence of the persons around her in the past two weeks. Kyuhyun, Hyukjae, Ryeowook, and Yesung has made her day become different, and it makes her totally forget about her status. She has fiance. She was supposed to get married with Choi Siwon. It’s tomorrow to be excact. And that fact is actually the reason why she’s here in the first place.
Kyuhyun eyes her with a concern look on his face. He thinks about how bad Siwon is, until Sungmin doesn’t want to be paired with him. He shakes his head as he thinks too far about Siwon’s rudeness. Seriously, i will kill him mercilessly if i found out he hurt Sungmin. He thinks to himself, gritting his teeth.
As for now, Kyuhyun doesn’t want to bother her. He feels sorry to her and the worst thing is he can’t do anything about it. He just let her be in her deep thought, until she clams down.
They arrive at the station and walk in a slow pace. They walk in silence again, no holding hands, no words. But Kyuhyun always take glances at her in worried. He doesn’t dare to start a conversation. He’s scared that he might speak wrong words and it end up hurting her.
It’s 8 PM now. Kyuhyun can’t take it anymore, he wants to break the silence. Well, breaking a silence? It’s not really Kyuhyun typical actually. But he’s just worried about the frowning girl beside him. But he sighs in relief when finally, yes finally, Sungmin speaks up.
“Kyuhyun-sshi... I’m sorry. I’m acting like this, and it might annoy you.” Kyuhyun looks at her intently, but she only stares up at the night sky.
“No.. It’s okay. I can understand you. Are you feeling better now?” He pauses, arguing with his own thought whether he will ask her about it or not. But it’s just into his mind, it’s nothing wrong to ask it. “Errr.. is he.. that bad? I mean your fiance... Why don’t you want to marry him?” He ask carefully, and add in his mind, ‘Not that i mind you recall your marriage plan’.
Sungmin stops walking, staring at him with her big round eyes, from his left eye to his right eye, and then to left eye again. Kyuhyun never ask or talk about this before. He stares back at her, anticipating her response. Is she trying to bore me with her gaze? He feels the urge of holding his breath. Or it’s simply because her gaze takes his breath away.
He breathes out in relief when Sungmin looks away and continue walking slowly. He was scared that he could get a heart attack if she continue staring at him like that.
“I don’t know... I don’t like guys who don’t know how to treat women properly and respectfully. He’s one of them, to be exact. He doesn’t have a well manner. So, don’t expect me to respect him.” She answers coldly, remembering how he treated her.
“Do i have to beat him up for you?” Kyuhyun ask her jokingly, trying to ease the bad feeling about Siwon. He can’t hold that sentence from his mouth. But he knew, he already knew from the moment he saw her that he wanted to protect her. Sungmin laughs now, her melodious laughter sends shiver to his spine. He smiles in return. The ice has melted by the moment they laugh together.
“Kyuhyun-sshi...” Sungmin says after they calm down. She looks hesitant, biting her lower lip. “Can i ask you a favor?” she stops walking again. Kyuhyun gestures her to continue with nodding his head.
“I remember something... when i dragged you to the bookstore, you actually... called my name for the first time. Can you call me by my name now? I want to hear it again...” she states hopefully. Kyuhyun gulps, Did i call her by her name for the first time? Was i that bad never call her by her name before? Yeah, i always felt awkward to mention her name. Stupid... why was i like that?
Kyuhyun stays still like a statue. Silence envelope them once again. Then Sungmin chuckles. “It’s alright, Kyuhyun-sshi...” She laughs bitterly and walk away first, leaving Kyuhyun dumbfounded. Say it, Kyuhyun! You idiot! What are you waiting for? Kyuhyun thinks to himself, feeling stupid for making her dissapointed.
“Wait... Sungmin!” He gives up, he actually call her name. Sungmin stops dead at her track, and look back at him with a wide smile plaster on her face. Kyuhyun returns the smile sheepishfully as Sungmin slightly run back to him and grab him cutely by his elbow.
“Thank you! Can i call you Kyuhyun from now on?” She exclaims without hesitant. He just simplly nods with a bright smile. They continue walking down the alley, with Sungmin clutch his hands tightly.
“Kyuhyun, I’m... hungry, hehehe...”
“I know, me too. I was going to say the same thing. How about we eat Jjajangmyun? I know the place which sells the best Jjajangmyun.”
“Okay! I will eat anything as i feel so starving right now.”

That night, before he close his eyes to sleep, Kyuhyun takes his camera and look at their pictures. The picture of Kyuhyun and Sungmin. Why does he feel they look good together? He laughs at himself. Never did he was this silly and crazy over a girl. “Do i like her?”

When the machine starts, Sungmin can’t hide her nervousness. She bites her lower lip as they start going up slowly. Kyuhyun notices it, so without thinking twice, he takes her hand with his. “Errr... it’s okay, don’t worry.” He assures her, a little bit hesitant. Sungmin’s surprised with his sudden treatment, but she doesn’t complain though. She likes it. She smiles to herself as she’s calming down now.
Kyuhyun doesn’t know why he did it. Something inside him makes him doing it. He only wanted to assure her. But as their hands intertwined, he feels relieve that Sungmin seems enjoying it. He smiles to himself, feeling her soft and warm hand in his for the first time.
They are screaming their lungs when the the Gyro Drop falls down from only-God-knows-how-many-heights. Many couples are tightening their intertwined hands as they feel like falling down from the sky, including Kyuhyun and Sungmin. When it’s over, they look at each other and laugh as they still can feel the weird sensation in their stomach. Kyuhyun hops to the ground happily, followed by Sungmin. Yesung elbows Ryeowook and glance at them. “It seems our matchmaking mission is success, baby...”
“I knew they will make a good couple from the first i met Sungmin.” Ryeowook giggles at her own idea. On the other hand, Kyuhyun and Sungmin are too engrossed to realize that their hands still intertwined. It looks like they already feel comfort with each other’s hold until they don’t want to let go.
Yesung and Ryeowook don’t bother to talk about it, they don’t tease them. They just let them be, because they’re happy to see them like that. People maybe mistake them as a real couple just by the look of their happy faces and intertwined hands. They’re still holding hands while walking around happily, pointing at something caught their eyes, laughing together with the matchmakers. They even don’t realize when they finally let go of the other’s hand. It’s just flowing without scenario.

When it’s already 6 PM, they decide to have dinner. So, they walk to the Shopping Mall where they also can find food center. Yesung and Ryeowook who are currently holding hands lovingly, walk in front of Kyuhyun and Sungmin.
“How do you feel? Do you enjoy this?” Kyuhyun asks Sungmin. They’re not as awkward as before. They seem more relax now after walking together in almost a day.
“Are you kidding me? Of course, i enjoy this. It’s been awhile since i took a walk around the city. I miss this moment.” She announce it cheerfully, can’t stop smiling as they continue to search the good restaurant. Kyuhyun thinks to himself that he doesn’t regret at all when he finally agreed to come with Ryeowook here, because he can see happy face of Sungmin.
Sungmin suddenly gasp hard and stop when something or someone catch her attention. She immediately clutches Kyuhyun’s hand and turn him to the opposite direction in a quick motion. It makes him confused. “H-Hey, what are you doing? Sungmin! What happened? Is there something--?” Kyuhyun can’t continue his sentence as Sungming shoo him to be quiet. She drags him into the bookstore.
She breathes out in relief when she thinks she’s out of sight. “I saw Siwon.” She says in horror before Kyuhyun ask her again. “What? Who?” Kyuhyun ask her cluelessly.
“Choi Siwon! My Fiance! I just saw him at the japanese restaurant there.” Sungmin pause, so does Kyuhyun. To say his name is somehow giving her goosebumps, she doesn’t know why. Kyuhyun notices her scared expression, he gulps. “Are you sure?” He asks her carefully. She just nods, staring blankly at the floor.
“Can we go home now, Kyuhyun-sshi?” She pleads.
“Yea... okay, but-“ Kyuhyun’s sentence once again cut. This time is by his phone rings. He looks at the caller ID. “It’s Ryeowook-noona...”
“Can you explain to her that we have to go home first now?”

They ride home by subway in silence. Sungmin’s eyes looks so lost, staring outside the window. She thinks her life is already coloured by the presence of the persons around her in the past two weeks. Kyuhyun, Hyukjae, Ryeowook, and Yesung has made her day become different, and it makes her totally forget about her status. She has fiance. She was supposed to get married with Choi Siwon. It’s tomorrow to be excact. And that fact is actually the reason why she’s here in the first place.
Kyuhyun eyes her with a concern look on his face. He thinks about how bad Siwon is, until Sungmin doesn’t want to be paired with him. He shakes his head as he thinks too far about Siwon’s rudeness. Seriously, i will kill him mercilessly if i found out he hurt Sungmin. He thinks to himself, gritting his teeth.
As for now, Kyuhyun doesn’t want to bother her. He feels sorry to her and the worst thing is he can’t do anything about it. He just let her be in her deep thought, until she clams down.
They arrive at the station and walk in a slow pace. They walk in silence again, no holding hands, no words. But Kyuhyun always take glances at her in worried. He doesn’t dare to start a conversation. He’s scared that he might speak wrong words and it end up hurting her.
It’s 8 PM now. Kyuhyun can’t take it anymore, he wants to break the silence. Well, breaking a silence? It’s not really Kyuhyun typical actually. But he’s just worried about the frowning girl beside him. But he sighs in relief when finally, yes finally, Sungmin speaks up.
“Kyuhyun-sshi... I’m sorry. I’m acting like this, and it might annoy you.” Kyuhyun looks at her intently, but she only stares up at the night sky.
“No.. It’s okay. I can understand you. Are you feeling better now?” He pauses, arguing with his own thought whether he will ask her about it or not. But it’s just into his mind, it’s nothing wrong to ask it. “Errr.. is he.. that bad? I mean your fiance... Why don’t you want to marry him?” He ask carefully, and add in his mind, ‘Not that i mind you recall your marriage plan’.
Sungmin stops walking, staring at him with her big round eyes, from his left eye to his right eye, and then to left eye again. Kyuhyun never ask or talk about this before. He stares back at her, anticipating her response. Is she trying to bore me with her gaze? He feels the urge of holding his breath. Or it’s simply because her gaze takes his breath away.
He breathes out in relief when Sungmin looks away and continue walking slowly. He was scared that he could get a heart attack if she continue staring at him like that.
“I don’t know... I don’t like guys who don’t know how to treat women properly and respectfully. He’s one of them, to be exact. He doesn’t have a well manner. So, don’t expect me to respect him.” She answers coldly, remembering how he treated her.
“Do i have to beat him up for you?” Kyuhyun ask her jokingly, trying to ease the bad feeling about Siwon. He can’t hold that sentence from his mouth. But he knew, he already knew from the moment he saw her that he wanted to protect her. Sungmin laughs now, her melodious laughter sends shiver to his spine. He smiles in return. The ice has melted by the moment they laugh together.
“Kyuhyun-sshi...” Sungmin says after they calm down. She looks hesitant, biting her lower lip. “Can i ask you a favor?” she stops walking again. Kyuhyun gestures her to continue with nodding his head.
“I remember something... when i dragged you to the bookstore, you actually... called my name for the first time. Can you call me by my name now? I want to hear it again...” she states hopefully. Kyuhyun gulps, Did i call her by her name for the first time? Was i that bad never call her by her name before? Yeah, i always felt awkward to mention her name. Stupid... why was i like that?
Kyuhyun stays still like a statue. Silence envelope them once again. Then Sungmin chuckles. “It’s alright, Kyuhyun-sshi...” She laughs bitterly and walk away first, leaving Kyuhyun dumbfounded. Say it, Kyuhyun! You idiot! What are you waiting for? Kyuhyun thinks to himself, feeling stupid for making her dissapointed.
“Wait... Sungmin!” He gives up, he actually call her name. Sungmin stops dead at her track, and look back at him with a wide smile plaster on her face. Kyuhyun returns the smile sheepishfully as Sungmin slightly run back to him and grab him cutely by his elbow.
“Thank you! Can i call you Kyuhyun from now on?” She exclaims without hesitant. He just simplly nods with a bright smile. They continue walking down the alley, with Sungmin clutch his hands tightly.
“Kyuhyun, I’m... hungry, hehehe...”
“I know, me too. I was going to say the same thing. How about we eat Jjajangmyun? I know the place which sells the best Jjajangmyun.”
“Okay! I will eat anything as i feel so starving right now.”

That night, before he close his eyes to sleep, Kyuhyun takes his camera and look at their pictures. The picture of Kyuhyun and Sungmin. Why does he feel they look good together? He laughs at himself. Never did he was this silly and crazy over a girl. “Do i like her?”

A/N: it's been three weeks since i updated last chapter, mianhae... I'm working on another fics too (eunhae mini-series), and i was sick during Christmas until i couldn't focus on writing and going hiatus for a few days. And some Year End Shows were taking me so engrossed since there were Super Junior performing.. blame them.. kekeke~ and oh, i was going to post this yesterday on Min's birthday, but failed... *duh*
Okay, i revealed new character as you've read it on the beginning. I don't know maybe i lost some readers, but i promised to my self that i will finish what i've started, whatever it is... Sorry if this is a boring chapter, i feel so eager too to write the turning point part of this story... i feel like skipping these parts and go to more kyumin moment. LOL. No, kidding... ignore my blabber..
