Summary : Donghae found difficulties to write lyrics, but it was all fine when Hyukjae was there with him. Because they only needed to be honest to each other about their feelings.

Donghae was lying with his stomach on his bed, messing his hair for the nth times as his brain got stuck. He had promised Esna to write the lyrics of their composed song for As one, but he didn’t expect that he could find difficulties to write them. He felt like less of inspiration. Maybe he wasn’t allowed to write them alone after all. He needed his eternal inspiration.
Hyukkie... where are you when i need you? I feel like i cannot finish it without you. Why are you so busy while i am not?
And He ended up fall asleep with a pen on his hand. Only a line after an hour.
“Only U”
when i fall asleep tonight, kiss me
It was past midnight when Hyukjae sneaked into his room. He kinda expected that Donghae must be asleep already. He smiled as he watched his tired yet peaceful figure, then sit and caressed his hair as if telling him ‘hei, sleepyhead, i am home’. Donghae had texted him before, asking when he’s coming home, so Hyukjae decided to go straightly to his room.
Hyukjae took the pen on his hand thinking it might hurt him, then examined what he was currently doing. He wrote a song.. i see.
He read the only line on the paper beside the title. “When I fall asleep, kiss me.” Hyukjae chuckled amusedly. Without thinking more, Hyukjae gave a kiss on his temple and cheek, continued to caress her hair and flawless face lovingly.
“Hae-ah... wake up. Your neck will hurt if you sleep like this.” He poked his cheek, but no respond. “Hae... wake up sleepy head, i am here. Don’t you miss me?”
Not long after that, Donghae blinked then changed his expression. He pulls down his Hyukkie, hugging him as if they haven’t met for a year. “Hyukkie!”
“Yes yes, Hae.. I’m home.” He felt his hands tighten on his neck as Donghae continued clinging on him and shaked him eagerly. “Yah, Hae.. you’re suffocating me.” he laughed. Donghae losen his grip and faced the man in front of him with a childish grin.
“What?” Hyukjae asked even if he kinda knew what he was going to say. Yeah with that stare he could easily guess.
“Nothing... I miss you.” He kissed Hyukjae nose. Hyukjae only smiled at him, then join him laying on the bed without cutting their eyes contact. Donghae watched him in amusement yet curious as he took the pen and started writing on his lyrics paper.

Donghae laughed like a fish after reading that cheesy lines. “What the hell?!” Donghae hit his head playfully. Hyukjae just grinned his gummy smile and stayed silent. Donghae decided to keep silent as well. And they really love the atmosphere they built in the room. Silent, warm, and full of love.
Hyukjae gave him a sign with his eyebrow and gave him the pen. Ahhh... you are asking me to play with lyrics eh? Well, i love this game. I know you will help me with these lyrics. Hah, Hyukkie.. I love you so much for being clever.

so i won’t leave you even when the morning comes
Donghae looked at him challengingly when he was done writing those two lines. Hyukjae continued writing, randomly, making Donghae laughed.
the words, “let’s break up” don’t exist between us
“Of course, it doesn’t exist, you monkey.” Hyukjae joined him laughing, thinking that his line was so random, yet so true at the same time. So, he liked it a lot. And it seems Donghae didn’t mind with that line.
“It’s always only you, Donghae~” Hyukjae whispered to his ear sweetly, making him flushed. So he distracted himself with writing anoter lines, with wide smile on his face.

Hyukjae locked his eyes to his Hae as he puckered his lips when he was writing carefully. He found difficulty to restrain himself from kissing those lips. He said “nice” on his mind as he read his lines. Then he repeated what he had done earlier. “Only you~” he whispered again. Donghae giggled and looked away to hide his blush. “Your turn, Hyukkie..”

“Your turn again, baby..” Hyukjae winked. Donghae looked at him in disbelief after he read those lines. “That’s all?”
“Yes, baby... as simple as that. But read them carefully will ya? I’m being so sweet.” He grinned playfully, while Donghae pouted. But the pout turned into a grateful smile as he thought further. I love you too, forever.
“But still... i’m not going to write anything. Now it’s your turn again.” He said pretending sulking. Hyukjae mentally slap his forehead, “Alright alright, duh...”
on rainy days, be my umbrella
on snowy winter nights, sing for me
“I will...” Donghae answered his lines. “Neh.. i know.” Hyukjae patted his head.

so that sad tears can’t fall
i want to be in love like a main actress in a movie
Donghae took a glance at him then looked down as he finished writing those words, feeling embarrassed. Hyukjae stared at him meaningfully. He slowly lifted his chin so they faced each other. Hyukjae smiled sweetly at his brimming eyes before he kissed him full on the lips.
“I promise you will only shed happy tears from now on, Hae..” Hyukjae whispered as they pull apart. And then he took him to his embrace, making them laying on their sides. They stayed like that for some moments.
“What do you think about the lyrics so far?” Hyukjae cupped his cheeks.
“I love it, really.. Thanks Hyukkie.” He smiled, giving Hyukjae a peck on the lips before he continued writing. But now he only repeated some lines for the chorus.

“My turn again.” He snatched the pen from Donghae.

Hyukjae smiled in satisfied reading again his own lines. Donghae simply nodded as if telling him ‘good’. Now Donghae’s turn again, for the rap part.

like the balloon full of love
Donghae looked at him again with a grin which said ‘can you imagine it, Hyukkie?’ just like those lines. He was hoping that Hyukjae would understand what he was going to say with those words. And as expected, Hyukjae wrote a beautiful lines, following his own lines earlier.
we carefully fill it with memories
careful that it will pop
“You’re so good with words, Hyukkie..” He praised sincerely. Smile never left their faces.
let’s forget about the worries
in my imagination, it’s you and i holding hands in a house
i will keep this kind love until the end of the earth
“I hope you don’t mind i write so much hehe..” Donghae kept writing with concerned look while Hyukjae encircling his shoulder, nuzzling to his upper arm and playing with his hair. “Neh.. Go ahead.” Donghae felt a little bit tickle with his playful hand.

Hyukjae read the last line then whispered, “Forever, baby..” He laughed over his own silly words. Donghae of course join him laughing in the end. Then he decided to add that to the lyrics.

“You put them there on the lyrics?” He laughed in disbelief yet amused.
“Yeah, why? It sounds good.” He whined.
“Sorry, i’m just joking. Of course it sounds good because it slipped out from my own mouth.” He praised himself, making Donghae snorted.
“Do you want to continue for the very last part?” Donghae offered.
“Sure.. my pleasure.”

“Sorry.. it’s only a repeat from the earlier lines, but with changes.” He smiled apologetically. Donghae read it carefully, then without a warning he gave him a tight hug, pulling Hyukjae so he was on top of him.
“Thank you. That’s exactly what i want. You’re the best, Hyukkie!” He half-shouted, squeezing the man he loves so much.
Then they shared a passionate kiss.
“Baby, it’s past 1 am already. Aren’t you sleepy?” Hyukjae asked softly as they collided their forehead together. Donghae could feel his hot breath ghosting on his face.
“Please stay here, Hyukkie..”
Hyukjae chuckled hearing his childish whine. “Fine... I’m staying.” Hyukjae pulled his head to rest on his shoulder, then kiss his forehead. “Sleep now, Hae.” He felt Donghae nodded on his chest and his hands hugged his waist.
“I love you, Hyukkie. Good night.” Donghae said sleepily.
“Hmmm.. I love you too. Good night.”
Donghae smiled in his sleep. Finally he could finished the lyrics. He knew he would make it when Hyukjae was around. Because in the end, they only had to write about their own feelings, their own story.
