Summary: Cho Kyuhyun is a son of a rich and respectable family who never experience love. Until a destiny takes him to meet Lee Sungmin, a kind-hearted, independent, and humble girl who was raised at an orphanage. How does he feel when he find out that she actually can’t speak? Will he find the true love that he’s been looking for through that meeting?

Part 4 : Longing For You
The next morning, Kyuhyun go to work as usual. “Kyu, there’s something to take care of in Jeju Island. Your father said you must be going today.” Hyukjae informs his boss slash best friend.
Kyuhyun lazily gives him a “What?!? Today?” look. “You heard it, Boss. We must go this afternoon. You and me, yes.” Hyukjae replies his silent response firmly. Kyuhyun sighs in surrender.
“I got the tickets already. We’re going at 2 pm. Just get yourself ready, i already prepared for the rest.” He taps Kyuhyun’s shoulder and leave.
Kyuhyun leans back to the chair, closing his eyes in between tired and sleepy. Sungmin’s smile flash in his head, i can’t see her today.
When they are already on the plane, Kyuhyun fall asleep fast just because he’s kinda lack of sleep. An hour later, Hyukjae wakes him up. “Kyu, we have arrived. Why do you look so restless? Don’t tell me you can’t sleep last night kekeke.. You got new virus, Kyu.” Hyukjae lets out a small laugh, while Kyuhyun only narrows his eyes in annoyance.

That evening, they meet a bussinesman from Japan, making some deals and arranging another meeting. “I see we need to stay here longer eh?” Kyuhyun asks Hyukjae when they are heading to their rooms at hotel.
“I guess so... Don’t worry, Kyu. This is good for your company, and i will set things quicker, so we can go back earlier, neh?” he pats Kyuhyun understandingly. He feels it’s not the right for teasing him, not that when they all feel tired. Hyukjae, too, feels like something missing. Maybe it’s just about them not at home, or something else. He’s not so sure that he shrugs it off.
Kyuhyun feels stupid. That night he just realize that he doesn’t have Sungmin number. Cho Kyuhyun, you stupid idiot man ever. He bangs his head onto the pillow as he’s about to sleep. No way you can sleep tonight when her face always show up on your mind, stupid. Why on earth did you forget to ask her number?!? He keeps blaming himself for that. But it might be because he’s just too innocent about relationship or courting a girl.
He stares blankly at the ceiling. “What are you doing now, Sungmin? What are you thinking now? Do you miss me?” Like i miss you.. He chuckles to himself, starting to shut his heavy eyes.

Sungmin rubs her hands together as she walks to the restaurant, snow is falling. But she always love winter, it’s cold outside but can give you a warm feeling inside. She smiles to herself, seems she is in the good mood today.
She gets shocked when she enter the resto. “Saengil Chukhae!” they say in unison. A wide smile start forming on her pretty face. She cover her face in embarrassement, but feel touched at the same time.
“Minnie, look! I baked this especially for you!” Donghae exclaims cheerfully as she approach the birthday girl with her special cake in hands. “Now make a wish, Minnie!”
Sungmin clasp her hands together and close her eyes. I want a special birthday this year, Dear God. Then she blows the candles. Everyone cheers for her, while she only can bow for several times and mouth ‘thank you’.

“Minnie.. it’s been a few days. Why i didn’t see Kyuhyun-sshi around?” Donghae asked her out of the blue when they are preparing some cakes for this new year in the kitchen, making Sungmin kinda startled. She is stunned for a moment then slowly shakes her head while pouting, playing with the dough.
He might be busy. She mouth with some gestures, then shrugs.
“Hmmm... maybe.” Donghae trails off, tapping a finger on her chin. “But hey! Don’t pout or i will kiss you!” She quickly pecks Sungmin’s cheek then giggles. “You’re so cute when you’re like that, Minnie!” She gives a pinch as bonus, making Sungmin annoyed and pokes her face with some flours.
“Yah! What do you think you’re doing?!” They start laughing together. For Sungmin it’s a silent laughter of course.
I wonder too, where are you Kyuhyun? She says on her mind between their giggles.

“Kyuhyun, guess what?” Hyukjae slaps Kyuhyun on shoulder, eager to inform something to his boss slash best friend.
“What?” Kyuhyun snaps. It seems he’s always in the bad mood lately. He will only play games on his laptop everytime he get bored.
“Sheesh.. chill, Kyu. I bring a good news, we can go home this evening! Tada~” Hyukjae opens his arms dramatically while Kyuhyun’s expression change in a mere of second.
“Really? Are you sure?”
“It’s all done, dude. No worries, we can go back tonight. Is it okay with you?”
“Absolutely fine!” they toss.
So that evening they fly back to Seoul with happiness.. and longing for someone.

It’s 9 pm already when they arrive at Seoul. Both of them are tired, but somehow look happy as they smile to each other or even to empty space.
“Hyukjae, i need to use the car alone. You take a cab, is it alright?” Kyuhyun ask hesitantly, because he himself is still not sure what he is going to do. Is this right or wrong?
Hyukjae chuckles then nod, “Sure, i’m okay.” He shows his gummy smile. “Take care neh. I’m going first.” He leaves first, not before tapping Kyuhyun shoulder. Hyukjae has suspected something and he feels this is not a right time for him to interfere.
Kyuhyun takes a deep breath before driving off. He has decided to come to her house right now, yes it’s Sungmin. It’s not only because he missed her but also he just don’t feel good to leave her without any news. What if she thinks he’s some kind of jerk? He mentally slaps himself.
He’s grateful that he knows her address, so here he is. I hope you’re home, Sungmin.

Sungmin is currently in front of her laptop, randomly browsing some recipes or anything to find a new idea of her cake creation, . She’s already home while the other still at the resto. Well, it’s usually like that everyday because she’s only baking and there’s Donghae who will clean their kitchen. And today is so cold, Sungmin doesn’t feel like going out eventhough today is her birthday.
She is looking at a red velvet cake with a bright eyes when she hear a doorbell. She tilts her head in question, who is coming in this time? She shrugs it off and head to the front door.
She widens her eyes as she look up to see Kyuhyun standing there in front of her. “Kyuhyun?” she mouthed in shocked while Kyuhyun only gives her a tired smile. “Hey...” he simply replies. They stand still for some moment until Sungmin realize it is cold outside. So she gesture him to come in.
Kyuhyun scans the house admiringly as Sungmin leaves him to go to the kitchen, grabbing some water and cake because he looks tired. She mentally note that she will ask him why he’s suddenly here now and where he have been.
Sungmin finds him sitting on the carpeted floor, right on her previous spot in front of her laptop, near the fireplace. He sees she’s coming with something on her hands. “I’m sorry to bother you.” He says as she place the water and cake near laptop. Sungmin shakes head and smile at him reassuringly.
“I like your house, simple, neat, and warm.” He scans again around the room while Sungmin joins him sitting there beside him, legs stretched comfortly under small table. Then she gives the cake to him. “Thanks.” Here it goes, Kyuhyun is ready to talk about what happened to him in past few days.
“Sungmin.. I’m sorry i came so suddenly. To tell you the truth, i just came from Jeju Island. I was there for these few days for a business. And as i landed here, i feel like visiting you immediately.” He chuckles to himself, looking down to his knee. He knows he will do monologue again, but not that he mind.
The atmosphere seems awkward as they fall to silence, but very warming. Sungmin bites her lip nervously while thinking what should she respond it. In fact, she feel relieve that he told her about it. She feels relieve that he went for his business.
She takes the laptop and open notepad, typing. I’m glad you come. I thought you never want to see me again. I’m sorry i was thinking like that.
“Of course not, don’t apologize. It’s just.. i forgot to ask your number. So, i couldn’t contact you. I can’t even to greet you happy new year. I feel so stupid.” His voice is so deep and soft. She unconscoiusly smile listening to his voice.
She smiles at him and taps his hand to let him know that it’s all fine, and she’s glad at least now he’s here. He smile back in response.
“Anyway, do you always stock some cakes on your fridge? Or is it just because today’s new year?” he laughs at the tought of a baker who always eat his/her own baking.
She’s typing again. Today is actually my birthday, Kyuhyun.
He’s stunned for some seconds. “I’m sorry i didn’t know. Well.. Happy birthday to you!” He greets cheerfully while Sungmin only can gesture her ‘thank you’. “I’m glad that i didn’t make wrong decision to visit you tonight. So.. is this the birthday cake?” Sungmin nods enthusiastically.
She remember her wish before she blew the candle this morning. I guess this is the answer to my prayer. Thanks dear God.

Meanwhile, Hyukjae feels so weird that last night he dreamt of this girl who he met few days ago, a cute and shy girl named Donghae. In his dream, she gave him a strawberry shortcake, his eternal favorite. He never thought that she would appear in his dream. He thinks it was so random.
Now his feet, and probably his heart take him to this place, where she works. He doesn’t even know if she’s still there or not. But since he doesn’t know where else to find her, so here he is. It’s already closed but the light is still on. He wanders through the glass window, She might be still here.
Hyukjae’s gummy smile appear as he can see Donghae is still there with her coworkers, playfully feeding each of them with cake. She looks so cheerful and friendly, and her friends look comfortable around her. I guess it’s time for her to go home, then i’ll wait here.
Hyukjae is waiting in the corner of the street although it’s cold, but he can bear with it. Five minutes later, He hear her voice saying goodbye to her coworkers as she come out from the front door. Okay, prepare yourself, Lee Hyukjae.
Hyukjae snatch her hand as she turn to the corner where Hyukjae stay standing, making her squeak in shocked. “Omo! Who are- You! Hyukjae-sshi?” Her expression changes as she sees it is Hyukjae who hold her hand.
“Yes, it’s me, Donghae-sshi.” He grins teasingly. Then he sighs, “Sorry..” He let go of her hand, making her feel lost.
“Errrm.. what are you doing here?” Donghae blushes out of reason, looking up at him with her cute doe eyes.
Hyukjae chuckles loudly, hardly restraining himself from put her in his pocket. “To tell you Happy New Year!” he laughs while she looks at him in disbelief. Hyukjae knows he must be looked so stupid just now.
He clear his throat to ease the awkwardness. “Sorry... I’m bored. Going out with me? i know it’s almost late, but... Oh, i just got back from business trip with Kyuhyun actually. And i’m so.. Please just come with me kay?” He stops a cab quickly and drag her along, not give her a chance to say anything except “Hey!”.
