They gather in the living room together. Then it’s Kyuhyun who talk first. “Are you ladies missing me so bad so come here even without bothered to tell me?”
“Of course, dear. We just passed by then decided to visit you. Aren’t you happy?” His mom replies, and Sungmin only can watch them carefully.
“And what’s your name again, Miss?” She surprisingly added the question to her, making Sungmin nervous more. “I am Lee Sungmin, Mrs. Cho..” she hesitate yet try to look normal in front of Kyuhyun’s mother. And she... finally nods her head while smiling to Sungmin.
Sungmin thinks she looks so motherly elegant and decent, and she likes her already. She doesn’t even know why. She’s glad that his mother gave her a warm smile, seems she’s indicating that she doesn’t mind about her being Kyuhyun’s girlfriend. Well, although it’s too soon to judge, but don’t know why she can feel it that his mother is a very nice woman.
“Ahem,” Cho Ahra clears her throat playfully to melt the awkwardness , making Sungmin turn to her. “Ahhh, I’m sorry. I will bring some drinks. Please wait for a minute.” She dash out to the kitchen, heart still beating faster.
The Chos are laughing when Sungmin come back bringing 3 cups of orange juice. It makes Sungmin feels so glad yet envy. She can see Kyuhyun smile and laugh freely, as if nothing’s happened. And she really miss being together with her family.
Sungmin is still awkward although she doesn’t show it to them. But glad that Kyuhyun can manage them to get along well. His mother is actually nice, warm and caring. Sungmin feels bad because she and Kyuhyun have to make a story that he met Sungmin in Hangeng’s cafe, and that Sungmin’s family live in a province, so he asked her to live with him instead of living alone.
It’s not that hard for Kyuhyun’s mother to like Sungmin, because Sungmin is indeed a nice and polite girl, not to mention pretty.
“Take care neh, son? And please take care Sungmin as well...” Kyuhyun’s mother says as they bid their goodbye, giving him a hug. Kyuhyun chuckles, “Of course, Mom. Thank you, i will.” Sungmin feels like the happiest girl in the world.
“You too, Sungmin. Tell me if Kyuhyun did something to you.” Sungmin blush and giggles shyly. “He won’t, Auntie. He is so kind to me.” They hug each other. And somehow, Sungmin feels like crying because she’s really touched. Kyuhyun’s mother is so kind and caring, and she misses this kind of figure. Her own mother.
Ahra gives the two lovebirds a hug too. “I will be missing you, maknae, and you too my soon-to-be in-law...” she grins while waving her hand goodbye.
Kyuhyun and Sungmin look at each other when they already left. “I love your family, Kyu. They are so nice and can accept me. Although they don’t know anything about me...” Sungmin says sincerely, smiling bitterly remembering about her own family. Tears are threatening to fall. Kyuhyun immediately takes her in his embrace.
“It’s okay, Min. My mom is really considerate about her children. Don’t worry, she indeed likes you, because you’re so lovable.” He squish her to comfort her.
“And what about your dad, Kyu? Where is he now?” She looks up, but not letting go of the hug. Kyuhyun’s expression become unreadable. He exhales heavily.
“He is fine, baby, he’s fine. He’s kinda busy...” He fakes smile. His smile fade as she buries her face on her chest again. If you only knew, i have bad relationship with my own dad, Princess. But, you don’t have to know. I’m still fine with this, as long as you’re here with me.
“I love you.” Kyuhyun exclaims out of the blue, making her giggle in his arms. “I love you too...” She replies with so much sincerity in it. He eagerly squeezes her while laughing melodiously. There’s nothing to worry about if i’m with you, my princess.
“Let’s go?” He asks her as he pull away. Sungmin’s eyes widens, completely forgetting their ealier plan. “Go..? Aish, i forgot about our plan, hehehe... I’ll change first, neh?” She beams happily. Kyuhyun only nods with smiley face seeing her being adorable like that.

They are riding by subway which is quite full. But Sungmin doesn’t have to worry because Kyuhyun is there, holding her protectively in his arm. He keep his eyes open and wandering their surrounding. Call him a paranoid, but he can’t help but feel afraid of strangers who could suddenly take his princess away from him. What if one of people there is Siwon’s men?
While Kyuhyun is worrying about her so much, Sungmin looks up at him and grins without any specific reason. Kyuhyun raises his eyebrows in curios, “What... why?”
“Nothing~” She is still grinning happily. Yes, it is nothing actually. It is simply because she’s very happy today. Something that she hasn’t been feeling for quite some times, since her marriage plan with Siwon. Being in love with a person who loves you back is indeed the greatest thing that could happen to human being.
Kyuhyun laughs, “Silly bunny...” and her grin turn into a cute pout. Kyuhyun laughs even more, “Sorry, baby, but your grin reminds me of bunny, well... the cutest one.” He pinches her nose. Sungmin pretends sulking more, but fail. Because she can’t repress her laughter. “I love bunny, though~”.

After they reach the amusement park, they are simply trolling around, warm hand against warm hand. Kyuhyun can’t help but smile seeing Sungmin looks so happy now, but at the same time he’s feeling worried, he doesn’t even know why. Maybe he’s just being too paranoid that there could be some people who recognize them then would take her from him. If that happened, it wouldn’t be bad for him only, but he knows it would be more saddening for his Sungmin.
I have promised to myself and them, that i won’t give you away to them in any way. No matter how much they want to take you away from me, they won’t do that as long as i don’t give up on them. I want to see you smile, i want to see you happy. So, i will never give up on them.
“Kyu, let’s ride it!” Sungmin exclaims while pointing at the marry-go-round. He snap out of his deep thoughts, giving up at her and nods while she’s dragging him to the venue.
She doesn’t let go of his hand even while riding the merry-go-round. Well, not that he mind about it. He can’t help but smiling back at her, seeing her wide smile and giggle of happiness. To see you happy is more than enough for me. Please, don’t take that smile from her, dear God.
They simply spend time together there with riding some games. They never break the intertwined hands. For some moments, Kyuhyun finally can forget about his worries.
“Kyuhyunie~ i’m hungry... hehehe...” Sungmin says cutely out of the blue as they finish riding roller coaster for the second time. Kyuhyun chuckles amusedly, “Well, it’s 4 pm already. Let’s eat then! What do you want to eat, Min?”
“Mmmm... Let me think. Oh! Kyu, i want that grilled beef and... i want that pumpkin juice as well!” She grins on her own choices, pointing at those food.
“Okay, okay... what else, Miss Lee?” He serves her in i-will-do-anything-for-you manner, making her giggle and bury her face in his arm. “Na-ah, it’s enough.”
“Okay, sit here, don’t go anywhere. I’ll be right back.” He drags her to sit down at the nearer bench and winks before left her to buy the foods. Sungmin follows his figure until he’s out of sight, smiling gratefully while swinging her legs.
Kyuhyun reaches the booth which sells the grilled beef and ready to go in queue line when... he sees a familiar figure a few meters in front of him. He’s quite shocked to see her in here. Yes, it’s her. The young lady who came to Hankyung’s Cafe the day after Siwon’s attempt to bring Sungmin back to her house. They met there without Sungmin know it.
Kyuhyun stops dead at his track as he sees her, staring in disbelief. And reality hits him, Sungmin.
He was about to turn back to Sungmin panickedly when the young lady grabs his wrist, “Please stay, i promise i will not harm her.” Kyuhyun glares at her sharp gaze.
“Why are you here? What do you want? I thought we already have a deal.” He says it challengingly in a low tone, don’t care whether it’s man or woman who he face.
“Please, listen to me first. This is urgent.” The young lady says it firmly yet calmly. Her expression is so cold. Kyuhyun still glares at her, trying to digest her statement, but his mind also fly to another person. Sungmin, baby, please be safe.
“You know i won’t let you to take her away when she’s with me. That was our deal, Heechul-sshi!” He grits his teeth and snaps at her, still in a low tone that only the two of them can hear in the middle of people’s laughters and shouts.
“Mrs. Lee, Sungmin’s mother is in a critical condition right now. She’s coma in hospital. And it’s because her daughter is missing.” The Heechul girl is still in her calm yet scary aura.
“Don’t try to fool me.” He eyes her at the same time steal a glance to Sungmin’s direction, afraid that there’s a commotion, a sign of his baby being taken away.
“She’s in the headline news this morning.” Heechuls hands him a local newspaper. Kyuhyun takes it carefully, not ready to know the fact. But, yes, the newspaper said it so. Kyuhyun’s trembling in fear while reading the newspaper headline. Then he throw it carelessly, breathing heavily.
Kyuhyun feels like mute, don’t know how to react towards this sudden reality. He shakes his head in disbelief. This is exactly what he’s been worried about. He might lose his baby.

It was two days ago when he was still at office, he got a call from Hankyung. “There’s someone who wants to meet you.” Kyuhyun kept quiet, confused. “Kyuhyun, listen to me. I think you should get here immediately. It’s about Sungmin.”
Kyuhyun didn’t even think twice. He even didn’t reply his hyung as he just hung up like that. He dashed out of the office after packed his things, going to Chi, Hankyung’s cafe.
Kyuhyun’s wander the cafe, trying to find Hankyung. He saw him sitting face to face with a red haired woman who looked neat. So, he approached them.
“Hyung...”
“Ah, Kyuhyun... this is-“ but Hankyung got cut off.
“My name is Kim Heechul. You must be Cho Kyuhyun.” She stood up, gave him a bow and small smile, more like a smirk though. And Kyuhyun’s mind wandered, Heechul... sounds familiar. Where did i ever hear her name before?
“And who are you? What do you want?” He eyed her with a sharp gaze, because this felt so wrong and worried him a lot. Well, of course it’s about Sungmin after all.
“Well, i think i should take my leave then...” Hankyung said and was about going to stand up. “Don’t! Please stay here, Hyung.” Kyuhyun forbid him to leave, not that he’s scared or something. But it was just his intuition who told him to.
So, they sit there in an awkward and cold atmosphere. Heechul introduced herself as Mrs. Lee representative. Sungmin’s mother has been heard about her daughter from Siwon, that he almost brought her back home, but Sungmin insisted that she doesn’t want to go home. Even some people defensed her. So, there she was, to talk to Kyuhyun as the one who’s responsible about Sungmin at the moment.
“Kyuhyun-sshi, you know you can’t keep her forever. I’m sure you’re a good person. You will not let her being away from her own parents. So, i’m begging you to-“
Kyuhyun didn’t let her finish. “It’s not the point, Heechul-sshi. It’s Sungmin herself who doesn’t want to go home and only want to stay at my place, because she doesn’t want to marry that guy. And if it’s the case, then i promise to protect her and follow her wish.” He remained as cold as the pretty woman before his eyes. Even she said she was begging, she didn’t show her plea at all. And it made him pissed off. But he knew he must remain calm down.
They continued arguing, didn’t want to lose to each other. But Kyuhyun could see that she was getting weak in her opinion. It seemed she hid something behind her tone and cold expression.
Heechul heave a sigh, ”Fine, i will not force her to come back to our house, unless it’s you who give her to us willingly. Because i know she herself won’t come back except you’re the one who ask it. But i know you still have a conscience, Kyuhyun-sshi.”
“I will never give up.” Kyuhyun replied firmly. All he could think is Sungmin’s story about how her parent’s selfishness to pair her with Siwon, and how she hates Siwon because of his rudeness. No way he will give up. Although he wasn’t sure about how to live with her from now on. Who is he to her, and who is she to him actually?
When Heechul took her leave, Kyuhyun swore that he heard her mumbling in a plea tone, “Please, take care of Minnie.”
Then he remembered. Sungmin had mention her name before. She said she has a personal assistant who she treated like her own unnie, she call her Heechul-unnie. They are so close and even used to go to school together, although they’re separated by years. And Sungmin trust her so much. Yes, it’s surely her.

Kyuhyun widens his eyes as he sees Heechul is trembling and almost crying now. “Kyuhyun-sshi... please... Their company is going to collapse, almost bankrupt. And only Sungmin who can help them. Mrs. Lee got a heart attack because of this. We need Sungmin to bring back the condition. You know what it means, right?”
“....” Kyuhyun lost words, only staring at her in shocked. Sure he knows what it means. It means a marriage must be held soon.
“I’m sure you don’t want to see Sungmin lose her mother. You know that her mother is the one who she treasure the most. Sungmin will be down if she knows this, but it will be more saddening if she knows her mother died because of her. What do you think she would react if she knew this news? But it’s only her who can wake her mother up, who can help the company.” A teardrop falls from the corner of her eyes, but she wipes it quickly. And now Heechul just lost her pride. She knows she has no choice, other than to beg him.
It’s like a bullet getting into his brain. Kyuhyun never expect this is going to happen. And now it’s happening all of a sudden. Too sudden that he thinks he can’t bear with this. He exhales loudly, looking away from her. He feels his throat dry and hurt. Yes, he knows Sungmin loves her mother so much. Surely she doesn’t want to lose her.
”Are you okay?”
“Y-yeah, i guess.. I just... miss my parents, miss my mom.”
Sungmin’s gloomy face appears in front of him. He always remember her expression when she mentioned how she missed her mom. Should i give up now when we are just being together? Should i let go of her now when we know we are in love with each other? But...
People said, sometimes, promises are meant to be broken. I’m sorry, i really am sorry, my princess... I have no choice.
Kyuhyun messes his hair and repress a groan desperately, he’s now in the verge of crying. “Fine. What should i do next?”
And the tears are finally falling down.

Sungmin’s mother has been heard about her daughter from Siwon, that he almost brought her back home, but Sungmin insisted that she doesn’t want to go home. Even some people defensed her. So, there she was, to talk to Kyuhyun as the one who’s responsible about Sungmin at the moment.
“Kyuhyun-sshi, you know you can’t keep her forever. I’m sure you’re a good person. You will not let her being away from her own parents. So, i’m begging you to-“
Kyuhyun didn’t let her finish. “It’s not the point, Heechul-sshi. It’s Sungmin herself who doesn’t want to go home and only want to stay at my place, because she doesn’t want to marry that guy. And if it’s the case, then i promise to protect her and follow her wish.” He remained as cold as the pretty woman before his eyes. Even she said she was begging, she didn’t show her plea at all. And it made him pissed off. But he knew he must remain calm down.
They continued arguing, didn’t want to lose to each other. But Kyuhyun could see that she was getting weak in her opinion. It seemed she hid something behind her tone and cold expression.
Heechul heave a sigh, ”Fine, i will not force her to come back to our house, unless it’s you who give her to us willingly. Because i know she herself won’t come back except you’re the one who ask it. But i know you still have a conscience, Kyuhyun-sshi.”
“I will never give up.” Kyuhyun replied firmly. All he could think is Sungmin’s story about how her parent’s selfishness to pair her with Siwon, and how she hates Siwon because of his rudeness. No way he will give up. Although he wasn’t sure about how to live with her from now on. Who is he to her, and who is she to him actually?
When Heechul took her leave, Kyuhyun swore that he heard her mumbling in a plea tone, “Please, take care of Minnie.”
Then he remembered. Sungmin had mention her name before. She said she has a personal assistant who she treated like her own unnie, she call her Heechul-unnie. They are so close and even used to go to school together, although they’re separated by years. And Sungmin trust her so much. Yes, it’s surely her.

Kyuhyun widens his eyes as he sees Heechul is trembling and almost crying now. “Kyuhyun-sshi... please... Their company is going to collapse, almost bankrupt. And only Sungmin who can help them. Mrs. Lee got a heart attack because of this. We need Sungmin to bring back the condition. You know what it means, right?”
“....” Kyuhyun lost words, only staring at her in shocked. Sure he knows what it means. It means a marriage must be held soon.
“I’m sure you don’t want to see Sungmin lose her mother. You know that her mother is the one who she treasure the most. Sungmin will be down if she knows this, but it will be more saddening if she knows her mother died because of her. What do you think she would react if she knew this news? But it’s only her who can wake her mother up, who can help the company.” A teardrop falls from the corner of her eyes, but she wipes it quickly. And now Heechul just lost her pride. She knows she has no choice, other than to beg him.
It’s like a bullet getting into his brain. Kyuhyun never expect this is going to happen. And now it’s happening all of a sudden. Too sudden that he thinks he can’t bear with this. He exhales loudly, looking away from her. He feels his throat dry and hurt. Yes, he knows Sungmin loves her mother so much. Surely she doesn’t want to lose her.
”Are you okay?”
“Y-yeah, i guess.. I just... miss my parents, miss my mom.”
Sungmin’s gloomy face appears in front of him. He always remember her expression when she mentioned how she missed her mom. Should i give up now when we are just being together? Should i let go of her now when we know we are in love with each other? But...
People said, sometimes, promises are meant to be broken. I’m sorry, i really am sorry, my princess... I have no choice.
Kyuhyun messes his hair and repress a groan desperately, he’s now in the verge of crying. “Fine. What should i do next?”
And the tears are finally falling down.
