Goodbye Waikiki, Hello Pearl Harbor

I have spent three nights now in my shared condo by Pearl Harbor since I left my studio in Waikiki.
The thing I love most about my new bedroom is that it has this huge window and at night, when I am lying down, I can see the sky with all the clouds and I feel like I am floating in heaven. It's so peaceful, quiet and calming there. Waikiki was so loud that I could bearly sleep at nights sometimes, with the buses roaring back and forth, bums yelling drunken outrage at the world, and the notorious dumpster truck that
made it's early 6am calling with its urgent, hideous beeping noise. Its no wonder that I used to sleep better when I was with Brian at his place, rather then in Waikiki. ( I also slept better cause I was with him too ).
The view is also very pleasing. At night I can see the lights, the mountains. From my roommate, Beth's side, she has the harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial. It's so nice and I just relax, smile and think how lucky I am to have this new place and a new start to life.
So today, I have done not too much. I had come back to Waikiki to clean out the studio for the new tenant and I went for lunch at this Japanese place called Run Sushi. As I was eating this great salad of fresh greens w/sesame/sweet wine dressing, I noticed this little Japanese girl with the cutest eyes and these puffy cheeks eating lunch with her parents. She had this pink dress on and her hair was in pigtails. She stared at everybody and at one point, she got a soft serve ice cream cone. The look on her face said it all. She was so excited. Her eyes widened, her mouth parted in this " Wow" and she practically jumped out of her seat in pleasure. She was so cute, licking the cone and somebody observed, " She's so happy."
I know the feeling. I have a new start at things. I have a new job at the NEX, a new place where I can call my sanctuary, I have my health and a chance to become stronger, and I have my family, Brian and my friends. I am so happy.
