What is so artistic about taking pictures of someone at a garbage dump?

There are two types of art...
The perception of art by the viewer.
The perception of art by the creator.
The unique thing about art that has captured mankinds awe for centurys is the intensity of expression. Expression by the creator, perception by the viewer.
Art can be anything, the sole qualification is that it is intended to be art by the expressor, and/or percieved to be art by the viever. If the theme of the art incorporates the garbage dump into itself, then it's relevant. IE: painting a chest of gold in front of a garbage dump would have a theme of irony.

Out of curiousity, if it were me I would ask the artist what was the contrast or similarity of garbage to the person being photographed. The person being photographed is apparently intricate to the art, apparently the garbage dump is too. I would be curious how the artist views the contrast/similarity of the two. Be certain what makes it art is the contrast or silimie of the two, that's the important part. Artists express themselves and their feelings thru their work, and they incorporate symbolism and irony into it. That is the constant.

If someone wanted to photgraph me, and if they were adamant that it must be ME, in front of garbage I would be concerned their intent was contrast and not similie. But then again you see the statement inherint to the irony, hence you ask the question.
